Sheriff Victor Hill’s Trunk or Treat event is huge.!!! A great environment!

Reminder: Today a member from the D.E.A will be present at the Jonesboro Police Department until 2:00PM accepting your unused medications.

OIC Kendrick gave some very good information while teaching the self defense class. This allowed those in the audience to understand utilizing weapons of opportunities along with safety precautions to take while in public.

We enjoyed our time at the Lee Street Elementary Fall Festival this evening.

We are having a blast at Lee Street Elementary School Fall Festival! The kids are having fun too!!

Congratulations to Officer Kendrick and all the other honorees recognized by the Knights of Columbus, Tara Council #6352. A special congratulations to CCPD Officer James Baker and his K9 partner, Odin for being awarded the Public Safety Professional of the Year.

Earlier today OIC Spencer pulled over a vehicle for no insurance. After speaking with the driver and passenger she determined they were homeless and the vehicle was not only a mode of transportation but also a temporary home as today was their last day at a local motel. OIC Spencer determined that writing a citation would only burden this family and instead decided to purchase vehicle insurance for them at her expense. Ofc. Waters whom came to assist decided he would purchase the family’s lunch. Great job OIC Spencer and Ofc. Waters.

“Coffee with a Cop” was a success this morning at Fig Tree Cafe. An enjoyable time with members of the community.

On September 8, 2018 at approximately 22:48 hours, Sgt. Jones was dispatched to the area of 308 N. Main Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, he canvassed the immediate area and located a vehicle parked at 312 N. Main Street. This business would generally be closed at this time of the night. While entering the driveway, the vehicle began to move. Sgt. Jones ordered the subject to stop which he did. Sgt. Jones spoke with the driver whom had raw marijuana on his shirt and lap area. After investigating, it was determined there was not a lawful reason for them to be there. Both were arrested for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and loitering / prowling.

Bruce gave me a great tour of the ROC and campus at First Baptist Church. What an amazing commitment to community service!
