***** UPDATE - the tracks are now open!!!

Thank you Cornerstone Preparatory Academy for the Halloween goodies yesterday!!! Also thanks to the court clerks for giving the students treats as they were getting back on the bus, by the way, the clerks were dressed up as gumball machines.

Power is back on! Some traffic lights may still be in flash mode while they reset. Please expect some traffic delays and use caution driving thru the area.

We are experiencing significant power outages in the downtown area. Numerous traffic lights are out on Main St and Cobb Pkwy from downtown to Kennesaw Market Place (Cobb Pkwy and Barrett Pkwy) Please use caution traveling thru this area !

This evening as you leave work and enter the neighborhoods, don’t be alarmed if you see ghostsπŸ‘», goblinsπŸ‘Ύ, zombies πŸ§Ÿβ€β™‚οΈ and other scary creatures…..tonight is their night to be out roaming the streets looking for treats. Also don’t be shocked if you see Officers out trick or treating, maybe a little more tricking. Here’s a few safety tips for to keep in mind as the evening comes, β€’ Try to wear light colored clothing that is short enough to prevent tripping, and add reflective tape. Make sure children can see well enough through face masks, or use makeup instead. β€’ Adults should accompany young children. Cross the street at corners and never between parked vehicles. If there is not a sidewalk, walk facing traffic. β€’ Go out during daylight and carry a flashlight in case of delay. β€’ Stay within your own neighborhood and only visit homes you know. Tell your family which streets you will be on, and only go to houses that have their lights on. β€’ Only give and accept wrapped or packaged candy. Wait until you get home to sort, check and eat your treats. Examine all candy before allowing children to eat it. β€’ Keep costumed children away from pets. The pet may not recognize the child and bite. β€’ Avoid hard plastic or wooden props such as daggers or swords. Substitute with foam rubber which is soft and flexible. Home Owners: β€’ Remove lawn ornaments and leaf bags from the front of residences prior to Halloween. β€’ Park vehicles off the street or inside your garage. β€’ Turn on exterior lights to discourage vandalism.
