The Moms Club of Evans stopped by to say hello to our deputies this morning. During their visit, they were rewarded with Junior Deputy badges for good behavior. We hope to see some future law enforcement officers from this group!

**MISSING PERSON ENDANGERED** Richard Curtis Porter (DOB: 03/05/1976) left his personal care home on Tuesday and has failed to return. Porter suffers from Schizophrenia and may be a danger to himself or others. Please contact Inv Marc Cappa at 706-541-1044 if you have any information as to his whereabouts.

In reference to the incident earlier today in the area of Walmart in Grovetown, the suspect was later seen in the area of Dollar General in Appling and is now in custody.

**UPDATE: This suspect was taken into custody Friday (5/25) evening ** We were in search of a fugitive in stolen vehicle in the area around the Grovetown Walmart and we believe he has left the area.

**UPDATE: This suspect is now IN CUSTODY** The suspect driving the van listed in these photos is suspected of breaking into cars in the West Town parking lot in Martinez. If anyone sees this vehicle, or knows the owner, call us at 706-541-2800.

**SHOPLIFTING @ SECOND TIME AROUND (3690 Washington Rd)** On 04/26/18 and 04/27/18 the suspect pictured below shoplifted two purses with a total value of $80.00. The suspect was with a white male on both dates. If you have any information as to their identity please call Investigator Jacob Dyer at 706-541-1044.

Frank Dodson's final resting place with a perfect view of the mountains of Pickens, SC. The mountains and the hometown that he loved so much! You may be gone from this earth but you will be forever in our hearts!

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the community for the outpouring of love and support during the recent loss of our fallen brother, Frank Dodson, Jr. There was a beautiful service and celebration of Frank's life yesterday, 050918, in his hometown of Pickens, SC. RIP Frank .....we will take it from here! Your life and legacy will never be forgotten!

It is with heavy hearts that we tell you that Sr. Inv. Frank Dodson was tragically killed yesterday evening, 050318, involving a hit and run accident in McDuffie County. Frank was 53 years old and has been employed with our agency for 31 years. He was an only child and had no children. He leaves behind his mother, Barbara Dodson 79 yoa, in Pickens, South Carolina. Frank was an impeccable investigator. He served our county with both pride and professionalism. Every day he chose to put himself in the face of danger so that we could be safe. Funeral arrangements are pending at this time. Please join us in praying for Frank’s family and our Thin Blue Line family. We covet your prayers.

**USE OF STOLEN CREDIT CARDS AT WALMART ON BOBBY JONES** The unknown males in these photos used stolen credit cards at Walmart on Bobby Jones on 04/23/18. They were observed getting into the pictured vehicle which appears to be a Chevrolet Trail Blazer with an attachment on the hitch. In reference to the three videos that are circulating involving fights at Grovetown High School, we were notified and we investigated all three incidents. Criminal charges were obtained in all three fights.

This Saturday, April 28th is the DEA National Take Back Day. If you have unused or expired prescription drugs you need to properly dispose of you can bring them by the Sheriff's Substation this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The Substation is located at 650 A Ronald Reagan Drive in Evans. LIQUIDS AND SYRINGES CAN'T BE COLLECTED.

This week was National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, recognizing the outstanding work performed by dispatchers. We are grateful for the outpouring of community support and even more appreciative for the performance of our Communications Officers!

**APPLIANCE THEFTS** The two photos attached are of a Dodge truck we believe is involved in numerous appliance thefts at new residences within Columbia County. The driver appears to be a white male and the truck has an unknown paper tag. Visible on the driver's side rear door is a dent/gouge/scratch mark. **Theft of Lost/Mislaid Property @ Grovetown Walmart** Shown below are photos of a suspect and vehicle for a Theft of Lost/Mislaid Property that occurred between 9:50 pm and 10:15pm on 032718 at the Grovetown Wal-Mart. The subject took $100.00 left at the self-checkout by the victim. If you have any information that may be helpful in identifying this subject please call Inv Jacob Dyer at 706-541-1044.
