Glynn County, Memorial Holdiay is here and many activities are happening in the Golden Isles over the next 3 days. One of which is vacation. Traffic on our roads will start getting heavy. LAW ENFORCEMENT WILL BE OUT IN FORCE FOR YOUR SAFETY. As a reminder, the Memorial Holiday in 2017 resulted in 23 people being killed in traffic crashes. OF WHICH, 12 WERE NOT WEARING SEATBELTS. Let's reduce those numbers. Please wear your seatbelts, children should be in their proper child seats. Law Enforcement will be working to ensure your safety. 1. Do not speed. 2. Do not drink and drive. 3. If the roads are wet, you will not be able to stop as normal. 4. Remember the move over law. Just a few helpful hints. We care about you, Sheriff E. Neal Jump

Glynn County, The National Peace Officer Memorial Day recognizing our country's fallen officers was established by the United States Congress and signed into law by President Kennedy in 1961. Later in 1994, President Clinton signed legislation requiring the Flag be flown at half-staff on this special day. TODAY IS NATIONAL PEACE OFFICER MEMORIAL DAY. As your Sheriff, I know that you truly understand the sacrifice made by so many officers who have died in the line of duty and how devastating these tragic events are to their families, the close community that we live in and those who wear the badge. As you travel by your Glynn County Sheriff's Office, the Flag is flown today at half-staff in honor of all the fallen heros in our country. The members of the Glynn County Sheriff's Office take honor and pride in serving the citizens of Glynn County. Thank you, Sheriff E. Neal Jump

It's going to be another beautiful weekend in Glynn County. Please don't drink or text when driving. Be a defensive driver and know what is happening around you as you are driving. The SCAMS are still going around Glynn County. Do NOT give any information or get money for anyone that calls you on the phone. Do NOT buy cards to give to anyone who contacts you. Call the real Sheriff of Glynn County and speak to a Deputy about any calls that you receive. If the caller tells you that there is a warrant for you and you need to give them money, this is a SCAM. The Sheriff's Office will come to your house if there is a warrant for you. We will not call you. Remember I care about you, E. Neal Jump, Sheriff

Elderly Fraud Scams • “Lottery phone scams,” in which callers convince seniors that a large fee or taxes must be paid before one can receive lottery winnings; • “Grandparent scams,” which convince seniors that their grandchildren have been arrested and need bail money; • “Romance scams,” which lull victims to believe that their online paramour needs funds for a U.S. visit or some other purpose; • “IRS imposter schemes,” which defraud victims by posing as IRS agents and claiming that victims owe back taxes; • “Guardianship schemes,” which siphon seniors’ financial resources into the bank accounts of deceitful relatives or guardians. If you are unsure or feel like you are being scammed, please call the Sheriff’s office to discuss this matter before you do anything. Remember I care about you, Sheriff E. Neal Jump Glynn County
