8-29-18 Press Release Update In the matter of a recent incident in LuVerne regarding the report of an unresponsive male. The deceased has been identified as 54 year old Randy Merle Page of LuVerne. The investigation has resulted in the arrest of 60 year old Jeffrey Lynn Winters of Livermore on Murder in the First Degree a Class A felony. Winters has been arrested and is being held in the Kossuth County Jail on a 2 million dollar cash only bond. The cause of death will be determined by the autopsy results. Agencies involved in the investigation include the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, the State Division of Criminal Investigation, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, the Mason City Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol. Northeastern Humboldt County in north central Iowa... * Until 400 PM CDT. * At 321 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles northeast of Dakota City, moving north at 10 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern Kossuth and northeastern Humboldt Counties, including the following locations...
