On Friday July 13, 2018, the West Terre Haute Police Department completed two separate lengthy investigations that resulted in warrants being issued for two suspects. Both were arrested by WTHPD. Gary Reed, 43 of West Terre Haute, was arrested and preliminarily charged with Child Solicitation, a Level 5 Felony, and Inappropriate Communication with a Child, a Class B Misdemeanor. He is currently held in the Vigo County Jail on $35,000 bond. The West Terre Haute Police Department also arrested Donald Barnhart, a 54 year old male of West Terre Haute. Barnhart is currently being held in the Vigo County jail on $75,000 bond. Barnhart is preliminarily being charged with Child Molesting, a Level 1 Felony, Child Molesting a Class B Felony, Rape a Level 3 Felony, Child Molesting a Level 4 Felony, and Incest a Level 4 Felony. Both men will be in court Monday.

The West Terre Haute Police Department has identified the two suspects from the West Vigo IGA theft in June, 2018. Police have identified Paula K. Palmer, a 44 year old female from Indianapolis and Adrian D. Chandler, a 23 year old male from Indianapolis as the two suspects from the theft. Both Chandler and Palmer currently have outstanding warrants for their arrest for the crime. Both suspects are believed to be in the Indianapolis area. The Road Project in West Terre Haute is underway! The Town is asking all vehicles to be removed from 7 am to 7 pm on Thursday June 28th and Friday June 29th on the following streets. Paris Ave From Macksville to Bennett Place Johnson Ave from N 7th to Macksville Miller Ave from N 9th to Macksville Church St. from Paris Ave to National Ave Stayed tuned for the South side schedule. At At approximately 8 PM on June 1, 2018 this unidentified male took an undisclosed amount of cash from the West Vigo IGA. We are asking the public’s help in identifying this individual. Consolidated Elementary School's Kindergarten Class visited the West Terre Haute Police Department. The students got to witness a K9 and fingerprinting demonstration. They also got to see the police cars and the station. Thank you for coming!
