Scam Warning! This isn't a new one but it's worth mentioning again. We had a local business receive a call from someone claiming to be with KCP&L: Kansas City Power & Light, threatening to cut off power if a credit card (or pre-paid gift card) payment wasn't made over the phone. Fortunately they recognized it as a scam and HUNG UP! Never provide this info over the phone, but instead hang up and call the utility company yourself to see if there are problems with your account.
