On 10-21-18 Officer Tj Godbey(Jr) and Officer B. Cloyd were dispatched to Lexington Road to answer a call of an intoxicated male who had pointed a gun at a female and was still on scene with the gun. Once on scene they encountered Bobby Payne Jr. Officers gave verbal commands for him to show his hands and to get on the ground but Payne refused. Payne attempted to reach into his pocket and Officer Tj Godbey deployed his taser while Officer B. Cloyd covered him. After a brief struggle Payne was placed under arrest and a loaded firearm was located in the pocket that he was attempting to reach. Payne was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center. We would like to commend these officers as they would have been justified in using deadly force but was fortunate enough to stop the situation without doing so.

Harrodsburg Police Department would like to introduce our newest officer, Brandon Cook. Welcome to the department!!
