National Drug Take Back Event Saturday April 28th, 2018 !!!! 10am - 2pm The Old Orchard Beach Police Department will be participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day scheduled for Saturday April 28th, 2018 from 10am-2pm. Most abused prescription drugs come from family and friends. You could be a drug dealer and not even now it. This is a great opportunity to anonymously turn in your unused, unwanted, or expired medications for safe disposal. Contact your local police department or go to DEATakeBack.com for a collection site near you. Please stop in and drop off your medications at the police department!!! Help keep our streets and the enviroment safe!

Good Morning, The FBI has released a video compilation of the recent armed robberies that have taken place in southern Maine. The China Eatery was a victim of one of these robberies. Press Release: On 03/29/2018 at approximately 3:38pm Old Orchard Beach Police units responded to the China Eatery located on Ocean Park Road for the report of a robbery that had just occurred. An unidentified male subject wearing dark clothing and covering his face was reported to have entered the restaurant brandishing a firearm. The male subject demanded money from the cash register and immediately fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. Multiple agencies responded to assist. The suspect was not located at that time. The suspect is further described as being approximately 5’6” to 5’8” tall, thin build and possible blonde hair. The suspect was wearing dark clothing and covering his face during the encounter. Businesses are advised to use caution and not confront the suspect if they are encountered. This armed robbery appears to be similar to the recent string of robberies occurring in the Cumberland County area. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Old Orchard Beach Police Department immediately at 207-934-4911. The investigation remains ongoing.

Community Notification: A few Old Orchard Beach residents have received calls from a male identifying himself as a representative of the American Police Officer Association Fundraiser. He has stated he is doing a fundraiser somehow associated with the Old Orchard Beach Police Department and other officers. This is not true as the Old Orchard Beach Police Department is not associated with this organization in any way. This is believed to be a fraudulent caller. As always, use caution if you receive these type of calls and do not give out personal or financial information of any kind.

Parking Ban Reminder!!! Parking Ban is in effect for Old Orchard Beach starting Tuesday, March 13th at 6am until Wednesday, March 14th at 6pm so that road clearing operations may proceed safely during the storm. Anouncement - Warming and Shelters With the anticipated storm and the possibility of high winds and significant rain, Old Orchard Beach residents who find themselves without power or in need of a warming station or shelter are encouraged to contact the Old Orchard Beach Fire Department at 207-934-7790. The fire department will have a list of avaialble resources and locations to assist as needed.

Information Release / Bulletin : The Old Orchard Beach Police Department has recently taken several reports of counterfeit money being passed at local businesses. The counterfeit money has been marked as "Replica" or For Motion Picture Use Only. The denominations of the fake currency has varied. All incidents are currently under investigation. Please be aware of this activity and report any similar incidents or information immediately to the police department at 207-934-4911.

Two long time Fire Police Members Bud Tullis and Tony Eramo receive the James J Durant Civilian Recognition Award!! This award was presented to them for their outstanding and deidicated service to our community whenever they are needed and for whatever they need to do. These two gentlemen can always be found day or night working closely with the police and fire department responding to emergencies, blocking roads, working major events in town, or simply getting the community and fire police vehicles ready to go. Bud and Tony have served with many of our groups in town throughout the years. Both Bud and Tony attended the event with family members and were presented the award by Maine Association of Police president Kevin Riordan! Congratulations Bud and Tony for your outstanding service to our community and for being there whenever the call goes out for service!!! We can't thank you enough!!

FOUND DOG!!! On 1/11/18 The Old Orchard Beach Police department picked up a male, black and white dog in the area of Cascade Road that was running at large. The dog had a collar but no tags. The dog was scanned for a micro-chip and none was found. If you recognize this dog please contact the Old Orchard Beach Police Department at 934-4911. Please do not call the police department to try and adopt this dog. Update: The owner of this dog has not been located, he will be taken to the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk, and offered for adoption after the mandatory hold time has elapsed.

Cancel****** Cancel****** The dogs owner has been located and they have been reunited Found Dog in Old Orchard Beach! Late on the evening of 1/3/18, the Old Orchard Beach Police Department picked up an elderly female Golden Retriever that was at large. The dog did not have a collar or tags. The dog was scanned for a micro-chip and none was found. The dog makes a very raspy/ snorting sound while breathing and has an obvious deformity on the top of her muzzle. If you recognize this dog please contact the Old Orchard Beach Police Department at 934-4911. Please do not call the police department to try and adopt this dog. If her owner is not located she will be taken to the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk, and offered for adoption after the mandatory hold time has elapsed.

The Old Orchard Beach Police Department would like to recognize one of our newer officers Shannon Coffey for recently going out her way for others during a patrol shift. Officer Coffey while on patrol approximately a week ago met with some workers who were contructing the new rollercoaster in Old Orchard Beach. Officer Coffey talked to the workers who were outside working in cold weather conditions. She then took it upon herself to personally purchase and deliver hand warmers to the workers providing them some needed comfort while they continued working. Officer Coffey we appreciate your kindness and caring for those in the community!!

On Sunday Santa and Mrs. Claus took time out of their busy schedule to visit the Old Orchard Beach Police Department. Town employees and their families were givin the special opportunity to come see them and tell Santa their Christmas wishes. Thanks Santa and Mrs. Claus for stopping to visit!!

On Tuesday 11/21 Old Orchard Beach Police K-9 "BRUNO" was introduced to the town by his handler Officer Christopher St. Pierre at the beginning of the Town Council Meeting. K-9 Bruno was sworn in before the council by Town Clerk Kim Mcglaughlin. K-9 Bruno will be used for various tasks such as drug interdiction, tracking of missing or wanted subjects, and article searches. We welcome K-9 Bruno and hope he has a long and successful career with us!!
