City of Hastings Position available: Police Officer This is a full time position. Must be Mcoles certified as a police officer in the State of Michigan. Experience as a police officer is not required but preferred. Wages and benefits are governed by the collective bargaining agreement. What a great showing of Hastings Pride for this event. $10,880.90 was raised for awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. We would like to thank the Williams family for letting us plan this event for them and their daughter, Karrigan. A big thanks to all the donors in the community and the supporters that showed up to make the game special . We are looking forward to another great event and cause for next year.

Today is the day we come together to show support for Karrigan Williams and her family. Tonight the doors will open at 5:30pm with tip off at 6pm at the Hastings High School Gym. Your local Law Enforcement and Teachers will bring awareness to Cystic Fibrosis in honor of Karrigan with a “Cops vs Teachers” charity basketball game. Please come support Karrigan and her family and help fill the gym and make this a special evening.

The City of Hastings Police Department has suspended its seasonal enforcement of the no parking from 2 - 6 a.m. ordinance. Enforcement will resume in the fall, date to be announced.

The Hastings City Police Department is proud to announce this marking period "Lunch with a Cop" award winners. These 6 students were nominated by the middle and elementary schools in the Hastings School District. The awards were presented to these outstanding students for being leaders in the classrooms by showing great behavior, work ethics and always willing to help their teachers and fellow classmates. These students selected lunch's from County Seat, Pizza Hut, Waldorf, Mancinos, Seasonal Grille and McDonalds Hastings Police Officers that volunteered to participated in this marking period lunches were Chief Jeff Pratt, Deputy Chief Dale Boulter, Sgt Kris Miller Officer Josh Sensiba and Officer Kendra Backing Congratulations to the following students Valentina Arias (HMS) Rachael Hewitt (Central) Meredith Ansorge (Star) Maddox VanEngen (Northeastern) Carter Norton (Southeastern) Sophia Haywood (St Rose)

The Hastings City Police Department teamed with Save A Lot and an anonymous donor, were able to gather enough food for 20 families in the City of Hastings and surrounding area. Hastings City Police, Reserves and Cadets assisted in delivering food bags containing 18 pound turkeys, canned food, pies, potatoes and many other items in time for the Holidays dinners. A special thanks to Tim Dowling, manager of Save A Lot, and his contributions to this project. Without community members like Tim, we wouldn't be able to provide these meals

Hastings City Police Department participated in the Barry County Sheriffs Department's 2017 “Shop with a Cop” event. The City Police along with Sheriffs Deputies and Hastings Cadet's shopped with children from our community while they selected Christmas gifts for family and themselves. Special thanks to local all the businesses that help make the night a success.

The historic buildings were vandalized this past week with almost all windows broken out. Cost of the damage is estimated in the thousands.
