The Butler Police Department is aware of the issue with the stoplight located at Orange and Ft. Scott St. We have contacted MoDot and they are sending someone to resolve the issue. REMEMBER that when there is a flashing red light, you treat that intersection as a 4-way stop.

MISSING from Butler 16 year old female Delsa Burgess , left her home on foot sometime after 12am 9/15/18 possibly changed her hair color. If you have any information please contact Butler Police Dept @ 660-679-6131

Officers are attempting to locate Jered “Eddy” Moore who fled on foot in the area of North Broadway and East Pine Street in Butler, Mo around 8:49pm. Subject is described as white male height 6’1 weight 225 pounds, light brown hair, blue eyes, tattoo on his neck. Subject was last seen wearing a camouflage tank cut off shirt with camouflage shorts and tennis shoes. Subject is wanted for possession of drug paraphernalia. Today our Animal Control Officer rescued "Georgie". Georgie is currently being treated at Sage's for malnourishment.

Butler Police Department want to remind individuals to NEVER give information over the phone to people requesting money. We are sad to report that there are scam calls going around asking for money for the victims of Branson. They are promising to put you on a list for half price shows and hotels. Please do not give them any personal information. Also please help in spreading this message by letting people you know, that are without facebook aware of this.

Please call if you recognize this woman, as she was involved in a large theft over the weekend. We realize the quality is not the best, but you never know!

On 06/23/2018 officers were called to Bates County Memorial Hospital to investigate a sexual assault case. After speaking with the victim, officers with the assistance of the Bates County Sheriff's Office then made contact with the suspect Stacey Thomas age 54, at 509 N. Austin and placed Thomas into custody. Thomas is currently being held on a $100,000 cash only bond for 1st degree - aggravated sexual offense at the Bates County Sheriff's Office.

Butler Police Department as well as the Electric Department are aware of the multiple power outages, please be patient as crews are working to get it fixed.
