Sex Predator SUSPECT! ***UPDATED WITH SKETCH*** LVMPD detectives are continuing to search for the attacker of an 11-year-old girl in a sexual assault last Wednesday afternoon. Shown here is an artist's sketch based on a description of the suspect, and images of the actual vehicle he was driving at the time of the assault. Here are additional details: During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered the victim had been walking alone near the area of Twain and Swenson when a man driving a black BMW approached her and offered a ride. The victim got in the car and the suspect drove around the area for several minutes, and eventually sexually assaulted the victim at gunpoint. The victim was then told to get out of the vehicle in the alleyway near Palos Verdes St. and Twain Ave. where she was found by two passersby and police were summoned. He was tall, had a slender but muscular build and was bald, and had some hair on his chin. The vehicle was a black BMW 4-door sedan. Added to the list of names this year, was LVMPD Officer Charleston Hartfield, who was among the 58 killed in the 1-October attack. A Special Tribute! Today, students at Ernest May Elementary School in Las Vegas experienced a special police parade, complete with SWAT vehicle and K9 demonstration. This annual event honors the first police officer ever killed in the line of duty in Las Vegas, back in 1933. The school is named after Officer May. Caught on Camera!! A couple of armed robbery suspects won't be able to hide for long, as their faces appear on phones and TVs all over town. Do you recognize either of these men? The smiling suspect robbed a convenience store at gunpoint on Wednesday night in the 5000 block of south Eastern Avenue. The second image is from a robbery on Tuesday near Buffalo and Desert Inn Road. Police Memorial Run! This morning a 4-day relay run from Las Vegas to Carson City began at Police Memorial Park in Las Vegas. Officers from LVMPD and numerous other agencies are honoring Charleston Hartfield and all the law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty throughout the state's history. Murder Suspect Arrested! The nationwide manhunt is over for the Las Vegas man accused of shooting two casino employees during a picnic event at Sunset Park on Sunday evening. Anthony Wrobel was taken into custody overnight by alert law enforcement officers near Vega, Texas. We'll have additional details for you later today! Sexual Assault Suspect! ***Update: SUSPECT ARRESTED!*** On April 16, 2018 at approximately 4:57 p.m. LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to a business located in the 4100 block of South Sandhill Road to investigate a report of a sexual assault. Officers located the victim inside of the business and detectives were requested. Through their investigation, detectives learned the victim was alone inside of the business when the male suspect came in. The suspect asked the victim if there was anyone else inside of the business and started to look around. The suspect then grabbed the victim and committed the sexual assault. Afterward, the suspect ran out of the business and left the area in a white sedan. The suspect was described as a white or Asian male adult in his early twenties who stood approximately 5’8” tall and had a slim build. He had brown hair, was clean shaven and was described as having acne. He was last seen wearing glasses, blue jeans and a black t-shirt with the letters SWS in large letters inside of a red circle on the front of the shirt. $50,000 REWARD! LVMPD Homicide detectives are continuing to seek clues leading to the arrest of Anthony Wrobel, suspected of shooting two people during a corporate picnic at Sunset Park in Las Vegas on Sunday evening. In a news conference today, Captain Robert Plummer asked for the public's assistance in locating Wrobel who may have fled to another state. The FBI is assisting with the search. The Sands Corporation is offering the reward.
