The fundraiser this past Saturday night for Sgt. Cunningham's family was a complete success! To everybody who was able to make the event, thank you! For those who could not attend but still donated money, time, and prayers, we thank you as well! The outpouring of love and support demonstrated by the community, friends, and businesses was astonishing and humbling. We would also like to thank our brothers and sisters from the Delaware County F.O.P. Lodge 27. They spent countless hours, mostly on their own time, organizing and planning the fundraiser. They are the major reason why the event was such a success. We could not have accomplished it without them. Also thank you to everyone at the Springfield Country Club, espcially Pat Burns, who made this extraordinary event what it was!

******UPDATE****** The funeral mass for Sgt. Clinton Cunningham of the Newtown Township Police Department will be held at Saint Anastasia Church on Saturday, 3/24/2018 at 12:00 Noon. The procession to the Saints Peter and Paul cemetery will likely begin around 1:15 pm and will likely be very large. West Chester Pike in that area will be shut down temporarily during the procession. If you need to travel through that area around that time it is recommended that you leave a little early and get through before the closure, or plan to wait until the road reopens, hopefully in less than a half hour. We regret to announce the sudden death of one of our own, Sergeant Clinton Cunningham. Sgt. Cunningham suffered a brain hemorrhage off-duty while working out. Sgt. Cunningham was a highly decorated five-year member of the Newtown Township Police Department. He also served nine years with the Philadelphia Police Department. Last week Sgt. Cunningham was voted by his peers as the Officer of the Year. We ask that you keep his family, including his wife and four kids, in your prayers as they begin the healing process. As additional information becomes available we will keep you updated. Again, please keep Clint and his family in your prayers. #CC46

At last night’s Board of Supervisor’s Meeting, the Newtown Township Police held an awards ceremony where two outstanding individuals were recognized. Officer Clinton Cunningham was voted by his peers as the 2018 Walt Wolff Award recipient for Officer of the Year. After the store owner was distracted, she quickly grabs $300.00 worth of lottery scratch-offs, conceals them in her jacket, then flees the store, leaving the parking lot on foot. Below are the digital images of the female. If anybody recognizes her, please dial 911 and ask for a Newtown Township Police Officer. Remember, you can always remain anonymous. Feel free to share.

********ATTENTION******* The Newtown Township Police investigated three cars stolen overnight from the Liseter development. All of the cars had keys left with the cars. Two of the cars were parked in unlocked garages and one was parked in the driveway. We have found that a large number of people do not lock their cars and leave the keys inside or don’t lock the entry doors to their homes and make it easy for thieves to steal. Most thieves don’t break into cars or homes because it is usually easy to find unlocked cars or homes. Please help us help you by locking car doors and entry doors to your homes. If you have an alarm system use it. These simple steps will make it less likely that you will find yourself the victim of a crime.
