We are taking food donations or monetary donations for a food drive at the CVS parking lot from 10-noon today. Come see us!

Stuff The Squad is at CVS Sherman taking donations until noon TODAY!

STUFF THE SQUAD is going on now. Food and nonperishable food items will be accepted at the GCSO until Nov. 20th, 2018 at noon. GCSO and GCLEA members will be at CVs in Sherman tomorrow from 10am to noon and Classic of Texoma at Hwy 84/75 on Nov. 17th from 10am to 1:30pm collecting donations for this project. All items collected for this project will be taken to the 22nd Annual Bob Skaggs food drive on Nov. 20th, 2018. Please contact Capt. Today Grayson County dedicated a bench in honor of Sheriff J. Keith Gary who served 57 years in law enforcement. Many Grayson County Elected Officials, Grayson County employees, friends and family joined together on the North yard of the Grayson County Courthouse to honor a wonderful man J. Keith Gary. Sheriff Gary thank you for your unwavering commitment, for your true passion, and your selfless dedication to Grayson County. You are truly appreciated and loved by all!

Halloween with GCSO. Our office has candy for all of the little ghouls and goblins. We will also be handing out candy tonight at Sherman PD’s Fright Fest at Midway Mall at 6pm and TOMORROW at Denison’s Monsters on Main at 5:30pm. Thanks to GCSO employees, CVS Pharmacy in Sherman, Brookshires in Pottsboro, Sam’s Club in Sherman and Gclea Grayson for providing donations for candy to hand out. Special Thanks to Monte Walker of Howe Enterprises, for the photo of Detention Officer Jared Banks and a future officer from a recent event.

Sherman’s Fright Fest will now be held at Midway Mall. Same time, different place. Bring your trick or treaters and stay dry.

We are ready for Halloween activities, are you? Come see McGruff the Crime Dog and his buddies at Trick or Treat on Travis and a Wall Streets in Sherman from 6pm to 8pm.

Texas DPS and local law enforcement are always trying to find new ways to get the public involved in their surroundings. The (FREE) iWatchTexas mobile app is a great tool that allows the public to communicate directly with law enforcement to report potential criminal activity.

Today the Sheriff’s Office held a Promotion, Deputation and Awards Ceremony. We are proud to announce Deputy Kenna Norris was promoted to Investigator. Please join us in welcoming Deputy Cory George to the Sheriff’s Office. What an honor it was to award Suzanne Hawkins, Chris Head, Justin Milburn, Courtney Wallace, Cody Putman, Scott Price and Shannon Helms (Detention Officers) the Life Saving Award for saving an inmates life. Third quarter awards went to Deputy Shane Rodriguez: Deputy if the Quarter, Sgt. Jeremy Pirtle: Detention Officer of the Quarter, Jami Brown: Dispatcher of the Quarter, and Jennifer Schwitenberg: Civilian of the Quarter. We are extremely proud of these Grayson County Sheriff’s members. These members are shining example of the amazing people who make up the Sheriffs Office.

Session 5: The Citizens Academy is learning about the Special Response Team (SRT). Sergeant Hatten of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO)is instructing the group about SRT functions. Deputy Norris and Investigator Grissom of the GCSO are assisting Sgt. Hatten tonight. Sgt. Hatten, Investigator Grissom and Deputy Norris bring much knowledge and experience to the GCSO.

Thank you to every one came out for the Public Safety Picnic. It was a little wet, but still a great time!
