UPD Officer Gus Carlson recently attended the annual Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) of Northeast Florida awards ceremony. Officer Carlson accepted the Agency Award of Excellence on behalf of UPD and also received the Individual Award of Excellence which is given to law enforcement officers who demonstrate outstanding efforts to stop impaired driving.

The University Police Department Seeks Input Regarding Body-Worn Camera Policy The UPD has received a grant to equip all patrol officers and sergeants with body-worn cameras. As part of the grant, the police department is reviewing its policy. Anyone with an interest in the use of the cameras is invited to participate in the process by attending an input meeting 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, or 11 a.m. to noon Friday, March 2, in the Student Union, Building 58W, Room 3601.
