Colonnades Residents Show Appreciation of Public Safety Personnel
The Colonnades Community takes great pride in recognizing the brave, local heroes within their community. That being said, the waterfront community hosted another Appreciation Week to honor local public safety personnel.
Beginning October 15th and through October 19th, employees of the Fort Pierce Police Department, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, St. Lucie County Fire District, and the U.S. Coast Guard were invited to visit their choice of four restaurants and enjoy a select breakfast, lunch or snack.
The Fort Pierce restaurants participating in the five days of gratitude were Hurricane Grill & Wings, 2017 Seaway Drive; Manatee Island Bar & Grill, 1640 Seaway Drive; Dave’s Diner, 1011 Seaway Drive, and Goodfellas’ Pizza, 1008 B Seaway Drive.
“Appreciation Week is our way of saying ‘Thank You’ to the wonderful men and women, who protect and serve our communities day in and day out without complaint,” said Mike Oyler, president of the Colonnades Members Inc. “We appreciate all they do!”
This is the fourth year, the residents and business have united to provide this generous offer to first responders.
“I would like to thank the Colonnades Community and the restaurants for showing us that you care,” said Chief Diane Hobley-Burney. “Fort Pierce is home to us. It is a wonderful feeling to get the recognition that you are appreciated.”
