**UPDATE** Hart has been found and is back with his handler safe and unharmed. Thank you all for sharing the post and getting the word out. BCSO K-9 Hart is missing. He became missing between 10 pm last night (Saturday the 13th) and 10 am this morning in the area of Old Tennessee Hwy and Vaughn Dairy Rd. Hart is a trained apprehension dog so if you see him do not approach just call 911. Thank you for your assistance!

BCSO investigators were more than happy to go help process the "crime scene" in a kindergarten classroom at Cartersville Primary School this morning. We got the call that someone stole their cookies and was on the loose. We knew we had to help them in anyway we could! What a great group of kids and they were so helpful finding clues to solve the case.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 5, 2018 The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is confirming the identity of the female victim located in the Bartow County Landfill on August 13th. According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Medical Examiner's Office has positively identified the victim as Courtney Nicole Dubois, 20, of West Virginia. Dubois is reported missing from the Fairmont, West Virginia Police Department. Medical examiner's were able to use dental records obtained through law enforcement channels from her family to confirm her identity. Sheriff Millsap stated, "This is an important step in the investigative process and allows law enforcement to focus specifically on Courtney Dubois from this point and going forward." More information will be released as new developments occur.

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, recent information has been released concerning a missing woman from West Virginia… “Investigators from the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office are working with state agencies to positively identify this victim”. Until that information is confirmed, further information cannot be released to protect the integrity of this investigation. A Mattie's Call has been issued in reference to Harvey Donell Turner who has not been seen since Monday, August 27th around 9:30 in the morning. He was last seen walking on Worthington Road approaching Euharlee Road. He was wearing a long sleeve dark shirt, dark athletic pants with a white stripe down the side and slip on shoes. Harvey has multiple medical problems and needs medications. If you see him please call 911.

Sheriff Clark Millsap is pleased to announce that the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the next Citizens’ Law Enforcement Academy. You must be a Bartow County resident and 18 years of age to participate in the program. The 10 week program (which will meet on Tuesday evenings and one Saturday) begins on Tuesday, September 11th, and ends on Tuesday, November 6th. Academy members will be exposed to every aspect of Law Enforcement duties including; Firearms, Personal Safety, Jail Procedures, Administrative Duties, Criminal Investigations, Patrol Operations, 911 Operations, Court Services, Warrants and Civil Division, Crime Scene Investigation, Narcotics/K-9, C.P.R. Certification, and much more. Participants will have the opportunity to do up to 3 ride-alongs with eligible departments. Bartow County citizens who desire to qualify for the program must complete and return the application for processing and background check completion by August 29th. There is no charge for the class. Sheriff Millsap states “this program has been a big success and the primary benefit of the program is building a closer relationship with the citizens we serve.” Applications may be picked up at the B.C.S.O (Admin Lobby 8-5 Monday-Friday) or can be emailed upon request. Do you recognize this man? Investigators with BCSO are seeking to identify him for his involvement in an identity theft and fraud investigation. According to reports, a Rydal woman received notice in early July that an unknown person had purchased a phone and Verizon service using her identification information. Investigators were able to recover this photo of the suspect leaving after using the victim's information on July 2, 2018 at the Cartersville Walmart.
