Recruits Davis and Lindsey Small graduate from police academy The Kennesaw State University Police Department gained two new officers recently when recruits Aria Davis and Lindsey Small graduated from the police academy. Davis and Small completed the 10-week, 408-hour Basic Law Enforcement Training Course at the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy. They were among 26 police cadets from 12 metro Atlanta law enforcement agencies to graduate. Police Officer Davis, a Kennesaw State student and former KSU Police Explorer lieutenant, was elected by her academy class to serve as class president. Davis earned the John Marchant Jr. Leadership Award, named after the former director of the academy and given to the elected class leader. A KSU alumna and former communications dispatcher, Police Officer Small was presented with the Distinguished Student Award for having the second-highest academic average for the police academy class. She was within two-tenths of a point from the top score. “By successfully completing their training, Police Officers Davis and Small have demonstrated their commitment to law enforcement,” said KSU Police Chief Edward Stephens. “There is no higher responsibility than maintaining public safety. I am proud of these officers’ accomplishments and commend them for a job well done.”
