#Scam One of our officers was made aware from the victim that she fell for a romance-type scam involving a United States Army "General." The victim never had any contact with so-called "General" besides email. The "General" stated he couldn't access his bank since they were fighting overseas, so the "General" asked for money. The victim fell for it and sent over money using Western Union and other wire transfer services. The victim stated this continued on for only three months and nearly $30,000 dollars lost to this "General." She realized this might of been a scam and wanted us to verify it. YES, this is a scam! As much as we post about scams, along with the news, people should know this is totally a scam. Please do NOT give anyone money that you do not know.

Yesterday, our Hispanic Citizens Police Academy class went through our state-of-the-art use-of-force simulator. The state-of-the-art simulator is a sophisticated training tool that each student going into the scenario have different outcomes based on their interactions with the simulator. 👍

SCAM! We would like to make you aware of this scam going around. We were called to a Duluth residence that wanted us to spread the word that he received a call from a person from "Publishers Clearing House." The male over the phone stated he was a third place winner and needed to pay $755.55 to release his "winnings" of $1.7 million dollars and a Mercedes Benz car. The money was to be sent via Money Order to some person in some other state. Fortunately, he thought this way too good to be true and was a scam and never paid the money. PLEASE! If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is and #HANGUP.

The Hispanic Citizens Police Academy is trucking along with their weekly training. Here they were educated on our K-9's, active shooter and traffic enforcement. 👍
