Thank you to everyone that participated in and supported the 2018 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. This is an event our entire agency looks forward to each year. Each year after the Torch Run the MCSO, with the help of local businesses, host a luncheon for the Runners and the Special Olympic Athletes. This is always a wonderful time to hear and see the excitement of these Athletes when they share their stories of competing in the Special Olympics.

This special event is tomorrow! Come out and support a GREAT cause!

It is with great sadness the Muscogee County Sheriffs Office reports the passing of former Sheriff Ralph Johnson. We have no other information from the family at this time regarding arrangements. Please remember the family in your prayers.

Today concludes Public Service Recognition Week but certainly not our appreciation for the amazing people that are a part of the MCSO Family! Thursday’s theme: “We are bursting to tell you how sweet you are” was celebrated with popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy. Friday’s theme: “We think you are flipping amazing” See picture below of some of our front office staff showing off their Friday gift. We look forward to this week all year and are already thinking of ideas for next year. #mcsofamily

SPREAD THE WORD #SHARE

The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office had another successful Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 28th 2018. We retrieved 220lbs of prescription medication! That brings the total to over 1200lbs collected so far in 2018. I would like to thanks the following MCSO employees that volunteered their time to ensure we had a successful operation: Deputy Dennis Nichols Deputy Shawn Dial Deputy Ieasha Johnson-Myles Correctional Officer Matthew Spivey

Congratulations to Sgt. Edward Richardson on his retirement after more than 20 years of service. Enjoy!

Please help us spread the word! I am sickened that someone is once again contacting members of the community and telling them that the Muscogee County Sheriffs Office has warrants for their arrest and that they must pay money, usually by a prepaid card to avoid being arrested. Folks, we don’t give you a warning, we don’t call you , and you can’t pay us not to put you in jail! Please advise, especially your aging loved ones that this is a scam!! We are actively working these scammer cases. If there is EVER a question please call us directly at 706-653-4225. Additionally, if you have any information that would help us put these criminals in the Muscogee County Jail please call us at the above number.

We are still looking for great folks to be part of our team. Please check out the website for more information .
