The Storm Lake Police Department would like to inform motorists in Storm Lake the radar trailer will be placed at : South bound in the 1400 block of North Lake Ave Monday – Friday, May 28th – June 1st. The Storm Lake police Department reminds motorists to obey the speed limit and drive careful.

The SLPD sends a big Thank You to our Public Safety Chaplain Howard Avery who delivered the invocation and benediction at today’s Parade of Flags Memorial Day Service. A special Thank You to Fire Chief Mike Jones who serves tirelessly on the Parade of Flags Committee.

We wanted to make our followers aware of a scam involving craigslist. The pictured ad on craiglist lists a house for rent in Storm Lake. The owner advised this ad was posted by a scammer. Please do not reply to this ad or send any money.

Adriana Espinoza, age 14, Hispanic female, 5'2 107 lbs was last seen on Sunday afternoon, May 20th in the 700 Blk of E 1st St. in the afternoon hours wearing a black Nike sweatshirt and light blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Buena Vista County Communications Center at 712-749-2525 or Storm Lake Police Department at 712-732-8010.

Chaplain Alan Cummins joined public safety this morning as a volunteer chaplain for the fire and police departments. Chaplain Alan joins Chaplain Howard Avery as the second volunteer chaplain on staff with Storm Lake Public Safety. Chaplain Cummins is currently a fulltime chaplain with the Tyson Corporation serving both the poultry and pork plants in Storm Lake. Storm Lake Public Safety wishes to welcome Chaplain Alan to our ranks and we extend our sincere thanks for his willingness to serve our community. #StormLakePD
