Veterans Day is a day set aside to honor all of those who have served in our Armed Forces defending our freedoms across the globe. We appreciate their service and sacrifice to our nation! A special thanks to the Veterans who continue to serve at the CPD, their continued service to others is greatly appreciated!

Congratulations to Officer Peder Arntsen who graduated this morning from the Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training Basic Patrol Academy class #193!! Ten weeks and over 500 hours of POST training all concluded this morning! We look forward to Ofc Arntsen applying all his training skills and knowledge while serving those in our community! Congrats!

Congratulations to Lynnette Smith who is being promoted to Dispatch Supervisor effective this week. Lynnette has been serving our community for a little over 18 years, and she is a graduate of the Idaho POST Basic Dispatch Academy as well as the POST Advanced Dispatch Academy. She also currently holds her Idaho POST Advanced Dispatch Certificate, and has been involved in training our dispatch staff since 2001. Lynnette is also a Veteran of the US Air Force! We look forward to Lynnette serving in her new role with our department and we appreciate her continued commitment to our community and the citizens of Chubbuck!

This is a great community event that is made possible by donations from our community every year. The annual Trunk or Treat takes place in the Pine Ridge Mall and his a safe environment for all of the children to enjoy the holiday and show off their costumes. Donations are greatly appreciated!

Each year members from south east Idaho Law Enforcement agencies participate in the annual Shop with a Cop event in December. Today and tomorrow the 21st and 22nd from 10am to 5pm Officers will be at the entrances and exits of the Pine Ridge Mall accepting donations to help support Shop with a Cop. This great event wouldn’t be possible without donations from our community and every little bit helps!

We had the privilege to present Communications Officer Tatum VanDyke with her Peace Officers Standards and Training Basic Communications Certificate this morning. This certificate is a culmination of a lot of hard work on Tatum’s part and many hours of training. Great Job Tatum!!

We remember all those who lost their lives that fateful day and we recognize all the first responders who risked their lives to save others. We will never forget.

We had the honor of swearing in two new officers last night during the City Council meeting. Congratulations to Officer Josh Summers and Officer Jordan Kay for reaching this milestone in their careers. We are excited to have them join our team, serving the citizens of our great community.

This morning at about 7:20 AM our agency was alerted to the possible shooting of two dogs in the area of Knudsen Blvd and Zebe Ave. Our Investigators are currently working on this case and are seeking additional information.
