Tonight at the Planning and Zoning Commission: we are starting to clean up the Zoning Code, catching errors and grey areas. Welcome to our newest Commissioner Jeff Lamoureux!

The CED Department is organizing a reconnaissance trip to Aspen, CO, "The Aspen Innovation Tour." Over two days, we will look at green building, sustainable resort planning, downtown vitality and more. Do you have a question we should ask the Aspenites that will help us back here in Ketchum?

Did you graduate from Wood River High School or the Community School? Thinking about moving back? The Ketchum CED Department is launching an alumni outreach program this summer geared at getting graduates back here in the valley, with thier businesses and thier families. Look for us this summer at the 20-year Wood River Reunion event June 25. Send us a note if you know who is coordinating your graduation event!

Congrats to local Ketchum Company Eye Safety Systems (ESS) for their recently awarded $6 million dollar contract with the US Dept. of Defense Logistics for perscription lens carrier kits. ESS is the only approved ballisitic eyewear comapny for the US Marines, and one of only six whose products are authorized for US Army combat use. We are pleased that thier corporate offices are in Ketchum, Idaho.

The Ketchum Fire Chief recommends that all Blaine County Residents take a moment to sign up for the following emergency notifications.

Another good reason to expand your business in Ketchum Idaho: Governor Otter announced today plans to increase business tax incentives for job creation. Up to 6% of a new employees gross annual wage will be available as a tax credit. This is good for Ketchum and good for Idaho!

This will be a great opportunity for local businesses and residents to learn more about the sign code ordinance and the proposed changes being considered.
