On Tuesday, October 2nd 2018 at approximately 8:48 PM, Idaho Falls Police Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Lomax in Idaho Falls for a missing adult. Officers were told that David Madison, a 54 year old man from Idaho Falls left at approximately 1:00 PM, and missed two medication times for his medical condition. David has been entered as a missing person. He is described as a 6 feet 2 inch tall male with brown hair and brown eyes. He weighs approximately 229 pounds. On Tuesday, October 2nd 2018 at approximately 00:20 AM, an Idaho Falls Police Officer was patrolling the area of 17th Street near Curtis when they observed a traffic violation. The Officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who advised their license may not be valid. The Officer found that the passenger had a warrant for their arrest. Upon searching the passenger after arrest, a bag of suspected marijuana and a pipe were found. Officers later searched the vehicle and located suspected methamphetamines hidden inside. Officers arrested the driver, Shawn Thorngren, a 24 year old Idaho Falls resident for possession of a controlled substance. Officers arrested the passenger, Ashlee Bare a 26 year old Idaho Falls resident for the outstanding warrant, as well as possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The One That "Goat" Away -- Officer Abreo was checking his beat near Hemmert Ave over the weekend when he discovered four stray goats in the roadway. While they were obviously not homeless and were well fed, they were a hazard to motorists. Officer Abreo received help rounding them up and they were detained for not wearing their required roadway reflective vests. However, they are now safe and sound awaiting their rightful owners to bail them out of the Idaho Falls Animal Shelter.
-------UPDATE------ Subject has been identified and arrested! Thank you for your help! The Idaho Falls Police Department is requesting help in identifying a suspect in a theft case. The man in the photograph visited a local Maverick County Store on South Yellowstone. He is suspected in the theft of a woman’s purse after leaving the store. The photos are of the male and the black Cadillac SUV that he left in. UPDATE (4:01 p.m.) --- Well, it looks like midnight came sooner than anticipated. According to ITD, the traffic signal is now up and functional. Thank you for your patience and for avoiding the area. UPDATE (3:23 p.m.) -- The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is now estimated that the light will be out of service until at least midnight tonight. Please continue to avoid the intersection and take alternate routes. Thank you! ORIGINAL POST: TRAFFIC SIGNAL OUT — Please avoid the intersection of Yellowstone Avenue and N Holmes Avenue. The traffic signal is out at this time. Idaho Falls Power has been dispatched and is addressing the issue. The signal will be out-of-service for approximately 6 hours. Please remember that when a traffic signal is out, treat it as a four-way stop.

The Idaho Falls Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a wanted suspect. Juan Santos-Quintero (aka Junior or Mono) is wanted for questioning in recent robbery and shots fired investigations. Santos-Quintero has several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Santos-Quintero is a 22 year old Hispanic male who is approximately five feet three inches tall. He has numerous tattoos and is of thin build. Santos-Quintero is considered armed and dangerous. If you locate Santos-Quintero, please DO NOT approach him and notify your local law enforcement immediately. He may be with unknown associates, please use caution. On Thursday, September 20th 2018 at approximately 9:01 PM, Idaho Falls Police Officers were dispatched to Burger King located at 2325 E 17th in Idaho Falls for a disturbance. On arrival, the Officers were told by the victim that a man in a black Toyota Camry with Idaho plates was behind him in the drive through. There was an argument between the victim and the man when the victim tried to back out of the drive through. The man pulled out a black handgun and threatened the victim. The man then left in the black car. The man is described as a white male in his 30’s with reddish hair. The investigation is still active. On Friday, September 21st 2018 at approximately 2:17 AM, Idaho Falls Police were patrolling the area of Oak and Water when then observed a vehicle on fire. The Idaho Falls Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The Idaho Falls Police Detectives responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. The investigation is still active. On Friday, September 21st 2018 at approximately 01:11 AM, Idaho Falls Police Officers were dispatched to a robbery alarm at Common Cents located at 1940 W. Broadway. Officers arrived and spoke with the clerk, who advised a man entered the store with a black handgun and took money and cigarettes. Officers set up a perimeter and searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, who wore a bandana like item to cover his face. The man was armed with a handgun and was last seen on foot leaving the store. The store clerk advised officers that another patron had come into the store immediately after the robbery. The Idaho Falls Police are asking that patron to contact them about this case. EMERGENCY ALERT TESTING TOMORROW -- Bonneville County Emergency Management will be conducting a test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) sirens throughout Idaho Falls and Ammon on Thursday, September 20th at approximately 12:18 p.m. The sirens will sound for approximately 1 minute. This is ONLY a test. There is no need to call emergency services with this activation. In the event the EAS sirens are used in a real event, community members should tune in to a local news source for information and instructions regarding the disaster and/or emergency that may be occurring. The sirens are an outdoor warning system intended to prompt those who may not be near a radio, television or other news source during a real emergency to seek out the reason(s) for the activation.
On Tuesday, September 18 2018 at approximately 02:40 AM, Idaho Falls Police Officers were dispatched to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for an assault report. The assault occurred at Pockets Bar on Lincoln Road in Idaho Falls. Upon arrival, Officers were advised by security that a man had been brought in by his brother for an injury that occurred at the bar. The injured man was left in the care of the medical staff and Officers spoke with the brother. After further investigation, they arrested Cory J. Hix, a 41 year old Idaho Falls resident for aggravated battery, (Idaho code 18-907). The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
On Sunday, September 16th 2018 at approximately 00:00 AM, Idaho Falls Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Smith’s Food King on S. Woodruff for a report of shots being fired. Officers arrived and made contact with two men making the report. Both men reported damage to vehicles from the gun shots. On Sunday, September 16th 2018 at approximately 9:55 PM, Idaho Falls Police Officers were dispatched to 12th street and Hoopes Avenue in Idaho Falls for a robbery that just occurred. Officers arrived with Idaho Falls Fire/EMS. One individual was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. The Idaho Falls Police Department is actively investing both incidents. It is unknown if these two incidents and the previous shots fired incidents are related, Detectives are following up on all leads. Today, the Idaho Falls Police Department officially welcomed four new Police Officers to their ranks. Chief Bryce Johnson introduced the new recruits, Officer Madison Lindquist, Officer Matthew Raab, Officer Bryce Mickelson and Officer Cody Norris. (In order left to right) Mayor Rebecca Casper officiated with the code of conduct and the oath of office. Training for Idaho Falls Police Officers includes departmental training as well as Idaho Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.

UPDATE: Mr. May has been found safe. At approximately 6:30 PM on Monday, September 10 2018, an Idaho Falls Police Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of College Avenue for a missing person. The family of Torey May, a 30 year old adult male reported that he made some self-harm statements and they have not been able to locate him. He was last seen on September 9th 2018 around 5:00 AM. The Idaho Falls Police Officer, along with a Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to find Torey but were not successful. Torey might be in the area of Bone Idaho. The Idaho Falls Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Torey. He is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and 150 pounds. His photo is attached. He may be in a teal 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora with Idaho plate 1T41486. If anyone locates Torey or the car, please call Idaho Falls dispatch at 2085291200 or your local law enforcement agency.
