Caldwell Police Department News

A big shout out to our chaplain, police officer Chad Hessman, and 42 crew who were acknowledged/ received first responder of the year at the spotlight awards last week. That was a great experience but what was an even better was being in a room surrounded by others who have saved/ changed lives in other ways! Not every day do you hear the positive and life changing things that are going on. Remember to be a light everywhere you go. You never know who’s life it might save or change!

This Saturday the 27th we will be taking back unwanted prescription drugs from 10am-2pm! See picture for more information and restrictions.

Thanks to all of the community support and local sponsors, our new K-9 training facility is making progress. Our K-9 handlers and their 4 legged partners thank you!!!

Today marks the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic Violence isn't about anger management or substance abuse, it's the result of one person in a relationship feeling entitled to control their partner. Domestic violence happens year round in our community. The men and women of the Caldwell Police Department take a stand against Domestic Violence. 1 in 3 women, 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of domestic violence. Chances are, you may know someone in such relationship. What will you do to help them? #YourPoliceOurCommunity #PurpleRibbon #ItShouldntHurtToGoHome #SilenceIsViolence

Thank you to the Press Tribune for the great story on the CPD K-9 Unit.

Today we were invited to Raejen’s 5th birthday 🎂 party. Couldn’t pass up celebrating with our future officer in blue 👮🏻. Thanks for inviting Chief Wyant SGT Kershaw, Officer Glynn and Officer Clinger to help celebrate your birthday. For safety reasons Raejen was the only officer able to jump on the trampoline. 😬

Congratulations to our newest patrol officer, Matt Rapattoni, who was sworn in this afternoon by Caldwell Mayor Garret Nancolas.

New CPD recruit and former Hawaiian, Matt Rapattoni (seen on the right), challenged his firearms instructor (Det. Hessman) to a friendly speed and accuracy competition during handgun training today. Let’s just say Det. Hessman is the instructor for a reason. #WelcomeToTheMainland #HawaiiVsIdaho
