A huge THANK YOU to Gary and Carol Needs for their donation of dog food, collars and leashes for the City kennel. Truly appreciated.

The burn ban has been lifted as of today, Monday, September 10th. Please remember if you are a city resident, you must have a burn permit for both yard debris and recreational burns. They can be obtained at Payette City Hall, Payette Fire Department, or on line at If you are a county resident, you are not required to obtain a permit, but we ask that you notify Payette County Dispatch at 208-642-6006, ext. 1175 that you will be having a controlled burn.

The Burn Ban will remain in effect through this weekend and will be lifted on Monday, September 10th, 2018. Please remember if you are in the Payette city limits, a burn permit is required for burning.

This is a very real problem! Break ups are hard on everyone involved, but as parents, it is our job to make sure to limit the negative exposure to children. It is wonderful to see the Ex's who have chosen to continue to work together to parent their children!

It is scary how easily the drinks were drugged in a public place! A reminder to be cautious at any group event and with any type of drink (alcoholic or non alcoholic)! While this seems like adult content, teens should also be aware and keep track of their non alcoholic drinks at gatherings with their friends. Particularly if there are people attending that they do not know.

POSSIBLE SCAM: I just received a call from a resident who stated he received a call from a person claiming to be with the Social Security Administration (phone number 240-245-6039) that told the resident his SSN was being used in crimes. The caller asked the gentleman for his SSN, to which he refused to give out over the phone, assuming a representative of Social Security calling him would already have that information. This appears to be a scam. If you receive this type of call, you can call the Social Security Fraud Department at 1-800-269-0271.

ATTENTION: Investigators are trying to pin point area's that have had car/house burglaries. If you have had a burglary and did not report it to the police, please call 208-642-6026 to report it. You do NOT have to make an official report if you do not want to, but we would at least like to have the location where the burglary occurred to add to our information.
