This will be within the fire district boundaries only. You will still need to acquire a burn permit through the Sheriff's Office and if you wish to have a fire on federal lands, you will need to contact them to see if they still have a burn ban. The Power County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind motorists of the importance of driving cautiously. The school year is in full swing now and we have received an increase in reports of “stop arm” violations relating to school buses. Drivers are REQUIRED by law to stop for a school bus that has an activated and or flashing stop arm. If a driver is approaching the school bus or following, once that stop arm is activated drivers must STOP until the bus resumes motion and the stop arm is deactivated. Overtaking a school bus with an activated stop arm is a Misdemeanor in Idaho and requires a MANDATORY court appearance. These reports will be investigated and citations will be issued. If you would like, you may review Idaho Code 49-1422. Please drive cautiously and obey the stop arms and other signals being displayed by a school bus as they carry our future and our most precious cargo. Thank you.

Driver's License and the Courthouse will be closed in observance. The Sheriff's Office will be open. Have fun today, and be safe!!
