WYDOT has advised that Teton Pass is currently closed to trailer traffic. It is open to other vehicles. Check https://www.wyoroad.info/ as weather changes throughout the day.

Citizens: Forest Service will be having a few controlled burns in the next few days, in the areas of the Idaho side of Teton Pass, Horseshoe and Trail Creek Campground. Please do not call these fires in, we are aware of them. Thank You!

At approximately 4:15 PM, the Teton County Sheriff’s office received a report from Fremont County Sheriff’s Office of a suicidal subject that may be in the Driggs area. Fremont County was advised by the brother of the suicidal subject that he may attempt suicide by cop and was in possession of a firearm. TCSO deputies searched the Driggs area based off of GPS coordinates from the phone location of the suicidal subject. The search was narrowed down until the subject was located parked near the north end of Broulim’s plaza in Driggs. Deputies shut down sections of Bates Rd entering the plaza for safety of the public and nearby patrons of business were advised to exit away from the incident area, including a class at the senior center. The Madison County Special Response Team was requested to assist with the incident but was later cancelled. The subject appeared drowsy from medications thought to be taken. Deputies then moved in to take the subject into custody with out incident. A long gun was located in front seat of the vehicle. The subject was transported to Teton Valley Hospital by ambulance. At this time no criminal charges are pending against the subject. Family member were notified that the subject was unharmed and being taken to receive medical attention at TVH. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Teton County Fire and Rescue with their assistance with detouring traffic and assisting with securing the area for the safety of the public.

Traffic has been reopened at the Broulims plaza.

Deputies are currently on an active call at the north end of broulims plaza - sections of road on bates and near the plaza have been shut down.- Please avoid the entrance near bates and the post office.

CITIZENS BE AWARE THAT HIGHWAY 26 IS CLOSED FOR THE NEXT 5 HOURS DUE TO AN ACCIDENT, TRAVEL SAFELY!

ATTENTION ALL IDAHO DMV CUSTOMERS AND PUBLIC AGENCIES The Idaho Transportation Department hereby extends the expiration date for expiring and expired driver’s license and identification cards through October 31, 2018. This does not apply to drivers whose privileges are currently withdrawn until reinstatement requirements are fulfilled. Time is needed to implement a lasting solution to the DMV system problems and allow expired residents the opportunity to apply in person after that time. THIS EXTENSION DOES NOT APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING: 1. Drivers with Commercial Drivers Licenses (CDLs) who do not have a legal presence document on file with the Idaho Division of Motor Vehicles. 2. CDL drivers with expired HazMat endorsements. (These individuals will need to contact the department for further information and instruction. If any customer or agency is in need of a physical document specifically identifying a customer for any service or need, please contact the Idaho Transportation Department, Division of Motor Vehicles at 208334-8736, or fax your request to 208-334-8586, or by email to dlmail@itd.idaho.gov. At Approximately 3:39 A.M. this morning TCSO responded to the 3500 S 500 W area after receiving several reports of gunshots heard. Deputies responded to the area and took into custody Marshall White, 44, resident of Jackson, WY for multiple charges, including Aggravated Assault, Resisting and Obstructing, Disturbing the Peace, and Possession of a Controlled Substance and Paraphernalia.

Sections of Harper Avenue will be closed from Hwy 33nd Street to 4th Street starting August 6. Additionally, sections of 1st Street from Howard Ave to Ross Ave will be closed starting August 7. These closures should last approximately three weeks while improvements are made to the City’s water system. Please use alternate routes during this time. Access for residents will be provided, however we request that you minimize your vehicle trips in/out during the day and park outside the closure area. This is for your and the contractor’s safety. Thank for your patience while we update and improve our water system.

UPDATE ON GAME CREEK FIRE: Teton County Fire Department and Forest Service are currently on scene. Permission has been granted for a Helicopter to start dropping water on the fire. Currently the fire is 2 1/2 acres. No structures are threatened at this time.,
