Trick or Treat hours are set from 5-7pm on Halloween night.

Hydrant flushing is scheduled for this coming week. Village employees plan to begin opening hydrants on the 22nd and work will continue through the 30th.

Fall reminder. It is unlawful to burn grass or leaves at any time in the Village except between the hours of sunrise and sunset. It is also unlawful to burn grass or leaves on any street or sidewalk; doing so can cause breaks in the material which can then lead to substantial expansion damage during the freeze thaw cycles of winter. Depositing material and burning it in the gutter (tube areas) is also prohibited by ordinance. Get rid of those leaves but please help us out by following these three simple laws.

From 2012 to 2016, 1,692 children ages 8 to 14 were killed in cars, SUVs, pickups, and vans. A full 50% of those who died were unrestrained at the time of the crash. The Seat Belt Safety campaign pulls from the insight that as a parent, sometimes you have to let your kids have their way. But your kid’s safety should never be up for negotiation, no matter how much they push back on the seat belts being uncomfortable, unnecessary for just a “short drive” or any other excuses.

Operation Lifesaver is currently running a Rail Safety Driver's Education contest. All persons age 15-22 can participate by watching a short training video and enter to win a Samsung Chromebook Pro.

The Chadwick Police Department was recently awarded a $2,000.00 grant from Jo-Carroll Energy and Co-Bank to purchase a new Electronic Control Device (Taser) and supplies for training. We would like to say "thank you" to Jo-Carroll Energy and Co-Bank for their generous support of our community. The Chadwick Police Department would also like to recognize Village President Kim Hinrichs and the Village of Chadwick Village Board for their support with this grant.
