Savanna Police Department News

Once again it is that time of year for a reminder of the parking hours on Main Street in Savanna, especially when there is the chance for overnight snow in the weather forecast. With the coming of the winter season here is a friendly reminder about parking on Main Street in SAVANNA. Although it is in effect 365 days a year, with the coming of the winter snow and ice and the need for street clearing, remember there is no parking between 2am and 6am. Vehicles parked on Main Street during this time will be subject to being issued a citation and could be towed if the conditions warrant it.

The Savanna Police Department would like to talk with anyone who has not already spoken to our department concerning the incident that occurred on Adams Street West of the intersection of Main Street on the night of September 13, 2018. If you were a witness to this incident please contact the Savanna Police Department at 815-273-2246. Thank you.

Your welcome West Carroll Girl Scout Troop 2181.

Lets be careful today (Monday September 24, 2018) around Helle Park (Jackson and Arnold Streets) as the West Carroll Primary School is having their bike-a-thon out there. If you are going to the laundromat you can still get there, but please drive carefully or wait till later this afternoon after school hours. Thank you!!

$200.00 in counterfeit twenty's were spent at a Savanna business today! So, all businesses need to be on the look out and checking any twenty dollar bills they are receiving. The counterfeit bills did not have the proper security features real ones do. Make sure you are using money markers to check the bills or looking for all the embedded security features before accepting them. If you are not sure, don't take the cash.

Congratulations to Savanna Police Officer Nicholas Meeker on your promotion to Lieutenant.

Everyone drive careful this holiday weekend and enjoy having the bridge open again

Lets all have a safe start to the new school year.

Your welcome Elizabeth, and thank you!

Thank you West Carroll
