It's that time of year where we lie and tell ourselves we'll get an extra hour of sleep on Sunday. #DaylightSavings #fallback

Let's talk about candy corn for a second. 0% Candy 0% Corn 100% Disgusting #NationalCandyCornDay

With assistance from the United States Marshals Service, we have arrested Eric D. Kirk.

We'd like to remind you to make good choices this #Halloween. If you plan on drinking, make sure you have a designated driver, don't text your exes, stay hydrated, and stay safe!

Which candy are you looking forward to stealing from your children this Halloween? 🎃

When you're behind the wheel of a car, driving safely should always be your top concern. In 2016, speeding accounted for more than a quarter of all traffic-related fatalities in the United States. Faster doesn’t mean safer and faster doesn’t mean smarter. Earlier this week, in a single four-hour time block on South Duncan, more than 10 tickets were issued for vehicles going at least 15 miles per hour over in a 30-mph zone. We understand how crazy and busy schedules may be, but as a reminder to us all, speed limits are put in place to protect and ensure all road users reach their destinations safely. #DriveSafely #ItCanWait

Today, we took some time to celebrate Officer Shelly Dominguez who, after 20-plus years of dedicated and honorable service, is retiring from the Champaign Police Department. Officer Dominguez, who was one of Champaign’s original School Resource Officers, will be greatly missed. Although sad to see her go, we are excited to see where life takes her next as a member of our community! On behalf of all us at the department and the countless kids you’ve mentored over the years, congratulations and thank you!

Please join us in welcoming new CPD officers, Kyle Reilly and Trevor Norris, as well as congratulating Brad Krauel for his promotion to Sergeant. These three were officially sworn in and recognized by Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen at last night's City of Champaign - Municipal Government City Council Meeting. Congratulations!

Today, 20-year-old Shamario Brown of Urbana was arrested by the United States Marshals Service in Plano, Illinois, for a parole warrant. Great job by all law enforcement agencies involved.

Settle the debate. Which noise do our sirens make?
