Update The Marshall Police Department and the Marshall School Administration are continuing to investigate a threat made at the Marshall High School yesterday. We have been following up on information received throughout the day and maintained a visible presence at the schools. Our investigation into the threat led to charges being filed on 19 year old Marshall High School student Jonathonn Siler. At this time our information indicates one verbal threat by one person. This investigation is not finished, we will continue to follow up on information as we receive it. The safety of our students is a top priority. Therefore Officers of the Marshall Police will continue to be present at the Marshall Schools for the rest of this week and we are working with the School Administration to continue officer presence at the schools after this week.

The Marshall Police Department received a report earlier this evening regarding a potential threat to one of our schools. An investigation quickly followed which included officials from the school, potential witnesses and suspects. From the investigation one suspect was developed regarding the threat to the school. The suspect is currently being charged in connection with the threat. The investigation will remain open at this time but we do not expect any additional arrest to be made. The Marshall Police Department takes all threats against students and faculty seriously. We value their safety and believe it is our responsibility to eliminate these threats as swiftly and efficiently as possible. It should be noted all suspects are innocent until proven guilty. Officers from the Marshall Police Department will be present at the school tomorrow.
