Just a little afternoon fun with phone scammers lol. Never give out ANY information or allow anybody to take control of your computer. Wonder if it was the hair comment 🤦‍♂️

The Flora Police Department has taken several calls today in reference to citizens getting phone calls saying they owe the IRS and if you don’t pay or call them back they will issue an arrest warrant or you will be sued. Needless to say it’s a total scam. The numbers are auto generated and are coming from overseas. Do not pay, give out any information about you or your bank records. Besides tell them you know the Chief and you’ve got a “get out of jail free” card and that trumps their arrest warrant! 😉

Come on out to Appleknocker 2018! Lots to do, lot of great food and great fun activities for the kids. Be sure to stop by the Flora Police Dept booth for community awareness and safety info, visit with Officer Matt Irmen and Sgt Ruger with K9 Hector.

The main water line on Gateway water company break has been temporarily bypassed and the City of Flora water supply is back to capacity. Normal water usage can resume. Thank you so much for your support in this situation as it helped tremendously. NOTE: there is still a mandatory boil order on for all City of Flora water customers until further notice. Order could be lifted as early as tomorrow morning. Stay tuned for future updates. Thanks again!!

All City of Flora water customers! There is a boil order now in affect until further notice. This is in response to Gateway Water Company’s water main break north west of town. Again boil order in affect until further notice for ALL City of Flora water customers. Thank you for your patience

Attention Flora Residents!! There is a main water line from Gateway Water Co feeding the City of Flora that is currently being repaired. The City of Flora is asking you to please conserve on water usage. As we have limited capacity of water coming in, please do not fill tubs, jugs, water yards, wash cars or do laundry. This will help eliminate over usage as Gateway Water Company continues their repairs. At this time Gateway is diligently working on the repairs to be at full capacity by the end of the day. Thank you very much in advance for your conservation and we will keep you posted as we know more.

Flora Unit #35 parents. The Flora police department and Clay County ambulance service were dispatched to the Flora high school today on 2 different medical emergencies. I'm happy to say all is ok. At no time was students or staff at risk and the incidents were handled very professionally by school administrators. Just wanted to get the word out since officers and EMT's were at the building so no false information was spread.

Weather alert! Starting Friday evening through Saturday our area is expected to get massive amounts of rain fall. Some areas could get up to 9” of rain. This will cause flash floods and impassable streets. The Flora police department will barricade any street that becomes impassable and/or is to dangerous to drive upon. If you encounter a barricade do not drive around it or move them. Any person caught doing so will be given a traffic ticket for obstructing and prosecuted. This has been a problem in the past and almost caused accidents. Please be watchful of flooding and barricaded streets. Thank you for helping us keep everybody safe. Chief Nicholson
