The Village of New Baden has hired Visu-Sewer of Missouri to rehabilitate sewer lines in various neighborhoods North of Hanover Street. Visu-Sewer employees wearing hardhats and traffic control vests will be in the area tomorrow (10/24/2018) and next week working on sanitary sewer lines either in the street, alleyways, or backyards. The initial stage of this project involves cleaning, televising, and measuring the sewers to be lined. Visu-Sewer will be back in mid-December to install the lining material. All work should occur on weekdays during business hours. Visu-Sewer asks that any residents that have had sewer backup issues during prior sewer cleaning operations, or if you notice any backups occurring during the upcoming cleaning operations, to contact Clemente Rodriguez at (314) 326-2953. Visu-Sewer personnel will not ask to enter a resident’s home. Should someone make this request, residents should assume they are not with Visu-Sewer and immediately report the incident to the New Baden Police Department. Visu-Sewer personnel will require access to backyard easements and requests that you keep your pets restrained while they are working in your neighborhood.

Don't forget to check out the Chili and Soup Cook-Off and Cupcake wars this Saturday at the New Baden Park!! HAVE FUN & BE SAFE!

Village Hall has issued Solicitor’s Permits to three (3) individuals from Parker & Parker Dynasty to go door-to-door selling household cleaning supplies. They can only solicit between 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. These solicitors has been checked by the New Baden Police Department. As a reminder: whenever someone comes to your door, ask to see their solicitors permit before discussing anything with them. The Village of New Baden issues very few permits (most companies try to avoid them). Attached is an example of what the Village's Permit will look like. They are always yellow in color and will have my signature on them. Anytime someone comes to your door and you have an issue or a concern about them, please call the Police Department, 618-588-7741, IMMEDIATELY. Do not wait for a more convenient time as they solicitor could possibly move on from the area. Solicitation hours are only from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Saturday. No solicitation is allowed on Sundays or Holidays. Teri Crane, New Baden Village Clerk

Village Hall has issued Solicitor’s Permits to an individual from Direct Energy to go door-to-door offering electric supply options. She can only solicit between 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. This solicitor has been checked by the New Baden Police Department. Just a few facts: 1) The company is not affiliated with Ameren Illinois. If they tell you they are with Ameren, that is falsely representing who they are. Please then contact Village Hall or the Police Department. 2) Per a Press Release issued by the Village of New Baden on August 7, 2018: Ameren Illinois has released its new residential electric rate for customers in the New Baden area. Effective June 2018, the new Ameren summer rate (June 2018-September 2018) is 0.0460 and the non-summer rate (October 2017-May 2019) is expected to be about 0.0515. These new rates are lower than New Baden’s current municipal electrical aggregation contract with Homefield Energy, which is 0.0570. The municipal aggregation rate will decrease an additional 2% to 0.05596, beginning June 2019 and lasting through December 2020. 3) Solicitors will possibly state there are no cancellation fees with Homefield Energy if you switch. We recommend you verify with Homefield before making a switch, 866-694-1262. You can also reach Ameren Illinois at 800-755-5000. 4) You are not required to provide personal information. If you are unsure if you are participating in the Electric Aggregation Program via Homefield Energy, contact Village Hall for assistance. You will need to have a recent Ameren Illinois bill at hand for easy verification. As a reminder: whenever someone comes to your door, ask to see their solicitors permit before discussing anything with them.
