There has been an on-going rash of burglaries to vehicles in the south suburbs. Most reported incidents involved the vehicles being UNLOCKED. This particular citizen was able to retain his belongings by simply locking the doors. Lock it or lose it! And please... Keep an eye out for your neighbors. Do not leave anything of value in your vehicle. Lock your cars, garages, sheds, etc. Record serial numbers of all power tools, electronics, etc. Take photos of valuables. Many times items are sold at pawn shops, but without recorded serial numbers or other ways to identify property, these items are never recovered. There have been photos and video circulating of suspects of burlgaries and theft. Many appear to be a lone suspect. If anyone knows who this subject is or has information, please contact the Blue Island Police Department or your local law enforcement agency. Information will be kept confidential if desired.

The pictured subject was captured on home video surveillance and is suspected of Burglary to Motor Vehicle in the area of 2200 W. 121St Blue Island. There have been numerous burglaries to unlocked vehicles in Blue Island and the south suburbs recently. ANYONE HAVING INFORMATION REGARDING THE IDENTITY OF THIS SUBJECT PLEASE CALL THE BLUE ISLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT 708-396-7025. INFORMATION WILL REMAIN CONFIDENTIAL IF DESIRED.
