UPDATE (4/13/2017): Mr. Umbenstock was located in Chicago late in the evening on April 12, 2017 unharmed and in good health. He was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure. MISSING PERSON ALERT: On Tuesday, April 11, 2017 Homewood Police responded to Walmart, 17550 Halsted, for a report of a missing person. The missing person is 64 year old Thord Umbenstock who was visiting Walmart with a group from Countryside Nursing Home in Dolton. Mr. Umbenstock was last seen at approximately 3:27PM walking north from the store. He is approximately 6'3", 265 pounds and was wearing a black and blue jacket, orange shirt and blue jeans. Mr. Umbenstock's caregivers stated he has a mental health disorder history. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homewood Police at 708/206-3420.

On Tuesday, we welcomed area police chiefs and Cook County Department of Homeland Security representatives to the Brian Carey Training Center for an open house, ribbon cutting, and presentation of our high-tech police force simulator systems.
