Ace dressed up as Batman for Halloween.

Today there will be heavy pedestrian traffic at Osceola and Monroe for a Haunted House. Please watch out for the spooks, goblins and super heroes.

Greenwood is now open to traffic in both directions. Thank you for your cooperation.

This Halloween follow these safety tips. Recommended trick or treat times from 3 pm to 8 pm.

Traffic Alert: N/B Greenwood at Dempster is completely shut down due a gas main break. Alternate route Carol to Cumberland then north to Dempster or Carol W/B to Western then north to Dempster. Closure expected for the next several hours.

So last night Notre Dame College Prep played St. Ignatius College Prep in a varsity football playoff game. We had to come support our Don's! Guess our luck paid off, the Don's were victorious! After the game Ofc. Montgomery got a chance to kick a field goal with the team too. Extra Point is Good!

Oh what a day! Today was the Niles Park District Halloween parade and Festivities at Grennan Heights Park. What a great time was had by all! Check out these pics!

While driving through the Grennan Heights neighborhood today we got flagged down by a bunch of superheros... Well at least they were dressed up that way! Here are some of Niles Park District Ms. Debbie's superheros in action today at their weekly "Tot's-N-Tumbling" class. So when in Rome... Ofcourse we had to tumble too!

Boy we were busy......On Tuesday October 23, 2018 we welcomed our newest officer to the team, Officer Adrianna Kondilis. She will begin her tour of duty very soon. We also swore in our newest Sergeant. Sgt. Joseph Lazo Congrats and good luck! Lastly, we said farewell to two of our finest, Cmdr. Ken Sall and Ofc. Alec Laule. We wish you nothing but the best in your retirement.

If someone comes to your door trying to solicit something from you, make sure you ask them for a copy of their permit first! TRAFFIC ALERT!! Tomorrow many streets will be closed in the morning between 8 AM and 11 AM for the Annual Harvest Hustle. This will affect many neighborhood streets in the Grennan Heights Area and near Notre Dame College Prep (Note: Dempster Street WILL BE OPEN).

Yesterday we received a letter from Mason who is a student at Monroe Elementary School which is in Manitowac, Wisconsin. He is a friend of Flat Stanley. Well Mason... so is our Chief of Police Luis C. Tigera. Here he is doing Police Chief duties in Niles, Illinois!

CANCELLED..... AMBER ALERT, Please be on the lookout for a 2013 Chevy Malibu bearing Illinois License Plate # AV65043. A 7 month old named Kylee Jones was abducted. She is an African-American female infant who is 23 lbs.. The vehicle was last seen fleeing a traffic stop and maybe in route to Madison, WI. Any sightings should be forwarded to the Illinois State police at 217-786-6677!!

DYK??? Large overweight trucks on the roadway are just one of the reasons we see potholes each year. Niles PD in conjunction with the Illinois State Police are doing their best to enforce all overweight violations on our Village's main roads. Here we are today on Dempster Street.
