FOUND: On Monday, October 8th, 2018 @ 10pm, a scooter was found at the Somonauk Community Park. The scooter posted is an example of what was found. Owner will need to identify the scooter at the Somonauk Police Department. Please pass on so the owner can be found.

FOUND: In the area of Gage St. and Dekalb St. It was reported as abandoned in that area for approx. one week.

Found in the 400 block of south Depot St. Friendly black with white markings male pit bull. Black collar with white paw prints. Call non-emergency number please (815)498-2351. Can only hold on to him for so long before we take him to the Sandwich vet.

Found: Kid's size 8-10 gray coat and black baseball cap at the Somonauk Community Park. Owner will have to identify items to claim them.

PRESS RELEASE: In-State Warrant Arrest: On Friday 16 March 2018 at approx. 4:55 PM, Somonauk Police observed a vehicle who's passenger was known to police to have multiple warrants for their arrest. Police stopped the vehicle on Depot Street at Ann Street and made contact with 25 year old Hector Reyes of the 400 Block of N. East Street, Somonauk, Illinois and placed him under arrest. PRESS RELEASE: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol On Wednesday 14 March 2018 at approx. 10:48 PM, Somonauk Police responded to the area of E. LaSalle Street in front of Lee'z Place for a report of a person standing in the road next to a vehicle with their pants down. Upon arrival, officers located Kimberly M. Rice, 29 years old of the 200 Block of Boulevard Street, Sandwich, Illinois unconscious behind the wheel of a running vehicle with the transmission in drive and officers could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Officers were unable to wake Rice and an ambulance was requested to the scene. Rice was transported to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich. Upon release from the hospital, officers took Rice into custody and transported her to the Sandwich Police Department for processing. Rice was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and Improper Parking in the Roadway. Officer Scotty Hamilton of the Pikeville, KY Police Department was shot and killed Tuesday night around 11:30 p.m. when he, along with Kentucky State Police Troopers, were investigating a reported crime in the Hurricane Creek area of Pike County. A suspect is in custody, one officer is dead and another officer is wounded following a 15 hour standoff that started Friday night at around 9:10 p.m. when officers tried to stop the suspect's car for reckless driving and the driver led officers on a pursuit. PRESS RELEASE: No Valid Driver's License On Thursday 08 March 2018 at approx. 8:14 PM, Somonauk Police responded to the 200 Block of E. LaSalle Street to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers came into contact with 18 year old Troy I. Luckett Jr of the 100 Block of Schoolhouse Road, Yorkville, Illinois who was found to have no valid driver's license. Luckett was placed under arrest and transported to the Sandwich Police Department for processing. Luckett was charged with No Valid Driver's License and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. PRESS RELEASE: Driving While License Suspended On Thursday 08 March 2018 at approx. 5:04 AM, Somonauk Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which was observed being driven by 21 year old Brandy L. Lukacs of the 200 Block of S. Madison Street, Oswego, Illinois who was known to the officer to have a Suspended Illinois Driver's License. Lukacs was taken into custody and transported to the Sandwich Police Department for processing. Lukacs was issued a citation for Driving While Suspended and she was released on a Notice to Appear in LaSalle County on 23 April 2018 at 9:00 AM. Police Officer Christopher Ryan Morton was shot and killed Tuesday when he and two other officers responded to a 911 call where two women were heard screaming in the background. Upon further investigation, Police arrested 25 year-old Coleton R. Hulon of the 100 Block of E. LaFayette Street, Somonauk, Illinois for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Hulon was transported to the Sandwich Police Department for processing. Hulon was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol With a BAC Above .08, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Failure to Signal. Hulon posted bond and was released from custody. Hulon is due in court in Sycamore on Wednesday 11 April 2018. PRESS RELEASE: In-State Warrant Arrest On Wednesday 28 February 2018 at approx. 9:09 PM, Somonauk Police stopped a vehicle for speeding. Upon further investigation, police learned that the driver, identified as 19 year old Tiffany M. Viggiani of the 2600 Block of Village Green Drive, Aurora had a Failure to Appear Warrant for her arrest out of DuPage County, Illinois for the original charge of speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Viggiani was taken into custody and transported to the Sandwich Police Department for processing. Viggiani posted bond and was released from custody. Viggiani is due in court on Thursday 5 April 2018 at 1:00 PM at the DuPage County Courthouse in Wheaton. PRESS RELEASE: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol On Tuesday 27 February 2018 at approx 7:49 PM, Somonauk Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was observed stopped at a stop sign and while at the stop sign, the vehicle started to move forward and stopped twice, and then turned its lights off and then on twice. Police also observed once the vehicle began moving that the driver was driving at 25 MPH in a 45 MPH speed zone. After further investigation, Police arrested Dakota L. Toth, 22 years old of the 100 Block of Cardinal Lane, Sandwich, IL for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Toth was transported to the Sandwich Police Department for processing. Toth was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC Above .08 and Obstructing the Flow of Traffic. Toth posted bond and was released from custody. He is due in court in Sycamore, Illinois on Wednesday 28 March, 2018 at 9:00 AM.
