**Post Update** We located the owner of the cows and they were returned home safely. One of the fun things about police work is you never know what to expect. This morning, we received 911 calls about stray cows in the area of Route 59 and Route 64. Our officers responded and located these two wandering in the area. After a short, and slow, foot pursuit, we were able to corral them. We can say both are uninjured and appear in good health. We are working with DuPage County Animal Care and Control to locate the owners. If you, or someone you know, is missing two calves, please contact the West Chicago Police Department at 630-293-2222.

We want to thank Anchor Brake Shoe of West Chicago for inviting us to their facility to provide their employees with information about surviving an active shooter event. The threat of an active shooter attack is rare but very real. We provide training to prepare individuals for active shooter events, give them response options, and empower them to make their own life-saving decisions. If you want more information about this free training, please contact Officer Mike Rosenwinkel at 630-293-2751 or by email at mrosenwinkel@westchicago.org. #wegoBprepared City of West Chicago Government WeGo Together for Kids West Chicago Elementary School District 33 West Chicago Community High School
