Stockton schools start on the 15th. Please take extra time going to and from school. Watch for school buses and excited students. When your picking up children from the high school or middle school please remember to park parallel with the street and disregard the diagonal parking on Rush Street. Rush from Benton to Highway 20 is a 20 mph school zone when children are present.

The Stockton Police Department is happy to announce our School Backpack program. Stockton Police Department will be at the Stockton High School on school registration day Monday August 6th with a table. We have 100 backpacks filled with some basic school supplies open to any students of Stockton School District k-8th. We have a limited supply because we were not sure how many students and their families would like to take advantage of this program. Please stop by at our table even if you’re not getting a backpack so we can introduce ourselves to you and your students. We were only able to complete this pilot year with assistance from the following businesses: Walmart, The Corner Tap, B & J construction, Subway, Citgo, FHN, Illinois Bank and Trust, Citizens State Bank, Barkau Automotive. Please share to help us get the word out in our community.

The Stockton Police Department would like to share a post from one of our citizens of Jo Daviess County that we received in a private message: Just wanted to let you know I was very impressed with one of your officers this morning. We come to Mcdonald's in Galena every Saturday morning for breakfast and today I briefly noticed a cop ordering breakfast with some couldve-be-homeless-looking guy. I heard the cop tell him its too cold to be walking and thats when I realized he must have picked this man up and gave him a place to rest and a hot meal. I just want to say thats awesome. You know how many people probably drove past that guy on this rainy cold morning? I wish I wouldve caught your officer in time to thank him personally for his service but my three small children are constantly keeping me busy so by the time I got them eating he was gone. I dont know if you can or will share this but which ever officer that was should be recognized for his kind act. Way to go! 🙂

Thank you to all members of the Stockton Fire Department and their families.

The Stockton Police Department wishes our Lady Blackhawks well at State. Go Blackhawks.
