Look at this little fuzzball that was found roaming the area of Kathy Dr and Patriot Way. If you know who she belongs to let them know she was turned over to animal control. We checked her for tags, but that would be too easy.

UPDATE: The fur ball is named Oreo and his mom is coming to get him. This fur ball was located near Edgemere Court behind Kroger. If you know who it’s parents are please contact us so they can be reunited. This one wants to get home before the Bears game starts so let’s get going!

A couple of years ago in 2016, Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53 and the Bourbonnais Police Department put the safety of students first. Together we introduced and implemented ALICE Training to Bourbonnais. We continue to educate and prepare schools for a violent event using the ALICE concepts. Would your school, business, place of worship, or medical facility benefit from being prepared in the event of armed violence? Registration is now open for an ALICE Instructor Training. Below is an article done by The Daily Journal showcasing the efforts of BESD #53 and explaining the need of such training. If you or someone you know would be interested in this two day training (December 5th and 6th) that would certify the attendee to train their staff and coworkers in ALICE, please forward this to them or tag them in the comments! We are excited to help host this event and are thankful that ALICE Training Institute has a presence in Kankakee County. Registration Link:

It is the first day of school at Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53. This will be SRO Garcia's fourth year serving the schools in Bourbonnais. We wonder if SRO Garcia is sad that "Summer" is over but he sure does look like a happy snowman to be back in school. Have a wonderful and safe year everyone! #backtoschool #SROChallange #OfficerOlaf #Pawpatrol #firstday Village of Bourbonnais

We are so excited for SRO Tobeck's first day of school. Maybe one of the kids can teach him how to properly crop a screen shot? Hopefully he got some snack packs in his lunch! We think the SRO programs are a great way to connect with the kids in our community. We look forward to our own SRO Garcia's back to school photos, which we expect tomorrow when BESD 53 returns to school. High fives all around!

This years Shop With a Cop event was another success! With the assistance of The Village of Bourbonnais, Chicago Dough Company, King Music Inc and everyone who donated we were able to supply back to school supplies for 18 kids this year.
