On October 11th 2018 Ptlm Richard Cox was recognized by Fire Chief Damon Schuldt and Deputy Chief Hunt for his life saving efforts. Ptlm Cox responded to a medical call for service. He arrived on scene before the medical personnel. Ptlm Cox located a one year old child that was unconscious and not breathing. Cox immediately began giving the child CPR until fire personnel arrived. The child perished. However, it was stated that Cox’s actions increased the child’s probability of survival. While it is unfortunate that the child passed away, we recognize the effort and compassion shown by officer Cox. These things don’t go unnoticed! We appreciate all the good things big and small that our officers do!
