We have extended the application dead line through November 16, 2018 The Board of Police Commissioners and the Carlinville Police department are accepting applications to renew or current Eligibility List for future appointments. Interested individuals must fill out the application which is found on the website www.carlinvillepolice.com/employment.html. Applications will be accepted through November 16th, 2018. Minimum qualifications are 21 years old, valid driver's license, high school diploma or higher, no felony convictions, must be able to pass written and physical agility tests and be a U.S. citizen. Congratulations to Officer James Garner on his Graduation from his Academy Class.

Carlinville Lions Carnival is schedued for Friday September 14 and Saturday September 15th. City crews will be closing the 100 block of East Main Thursday the 13th in the am to allow for set-up. The parade will start at 6 pm on Friday and will start on South East St. at East 1st South, run west on E. 1st South St. to South Plum, turn north to West Main, then east to the City Square. We ask that all vehicles be removed from the inner square parking spaces on Friday by 5:30 pm to allow for ride set up. Hope everyone comes out and enjoys the Carnival.

Congratulations to Officer Kevin Naugle on his retirement after 30 years of service to the Citizens on Carlinville.

We are currently looking for the below pictured male who committed a retail theft at Wal Mart and fled from a car at Loveless Park. Update 4:45 pm subject is custody.

Law Enforcement Torch run will start the Carlinville leg at approximately 9:00 am at Boente Shell east. Will travel west on E. 1st South St to the square then North Broad St out to the fair grounds. Traffic flow will be reduced during the run.

As of today May 30th, 2018 NO BOATS OF ANY KIND SHALL BE ALLOWED ON EITHER CARLINVILLE LAKE 1 or CARLINVILLE LAKE 2 until further notice.

This dog was found on West Main with no collar. He has been taken to the Animal Shelter.

The Carlinville Fire Protection District will be conducting live fire training in the 700 Block of South Locust Street Saturday May 5th from 8 am till 12 noon. Due to this training South Locust will be closed from Pine Street to Spruce street, including the west end of Cedar Street, during this training. Please follow road closure signs and avoid the area if possible.

Warning to our residents - Unfortunately we have certain persons walking around town looking for unlocked cars to get into. We have had numerous reports over the weekend all across town. Please do not leave valuables in your car and remember to lock your car at all times. Please be vigilant and report suspicious person to the Police Department 217-854-3221 or call 911.

The Carlinville Police Department will be conducting Active Shooter Exercises at the Primary School on the Shipman Blacktop from 1pm through 2pm today. No children are involved or in the school building.

We have been receiving numerous complaints on scam calls this morning. Please remember the IRS will never call you to demand money. Please hang up on these call and never give them your personal information or money.

Today we say congratulations to Vy Talbert on her retirement from the Police Department. Vy has been with us for over 23 years. Her knowledge and experience will be missed in Dispatch.

Update on the Women's Self Defense Course scheduled for Feb 25th 1pm - 3 pm. We have changed the venue to the Carlinville Middle School Gym, same times. There are a few spots left open if anyone is still interested.
