Tornado warning for Western Madison County, seek shelter at this time!!

The East Alton Police Dept would like to thank thee un-identified good Samaritan who ran up to assist an officer who was arresting a suspect that was resisting arrest, while in the parking lot of Circle K. The officer was not able to identify the good Samaritan before he left, but would like him to know that when he ran up to offer help it was greatly appreciated.

Any help would greatly be appreciated by law enforcement and the family.

Happy Police Week to our officers!! Thank you for serving and protecting our citizens everyday!!!

From our comrades at the FD:

It's that time again! Today at 10:00 am we will be performing the monthly test of our tornado sirens. It does not appear there is any hazardous weather in the forecast; with a high in the low 80's, and partly cloudy with a nice breeze throughout the day. Perfect day to get outside and enjoy the weather!

**UPDATE: Owner has been located! Big thanks to anyone and everyone that helped spread the word!** We are attempting to locate the owner of this dog. If you are the owner, or know the owner, please contact this department. Thank You in advance.

We would like to take the time to thank all of our wonderful Telecommunicators!! It’s Telecommunicators week and they are the voices behind the radios and telephones that keep our officers safe!! Although they may not be seen they are appreciated!! Thank you for all that you do!!

!!Update!! From East Alton Animal Control: the first pup (all brown/medium size) has been returned to the owner! Unfortunately the brindle pup is still unclaimed. We were hoping they belonged to the same family, but must have met each other roaming the streets. Original post:These two little ones are way too friendly to not belong to someone, however they were found running at large and soaking wet. They'll be lodged at the East Alton Animal Control throughout the evening, and then transported to Madison County Animal Control at some point tomorrow unless the owner can be located. Please share and help us reunite these pups with their owners! 🐶
