Come on out to Firemen's Park in Maryville today for the Maryville Fall Festival from 11 am - 2 pm. There will be several food trucks and lots of games & goodies for the kids. Officer’s Leffler and Hopke will be there with a Squad car to show the kids. They will also be handing out coloring books.

Update On Friday October 19, 2018 the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office issued the following charges in reference to the Bank Robbery that occurred at the FCB Bank in Maryville on October 18, 2018. Christopher Coleman 45 years old of Saint Louis, Mo was charged with one count of “Aggravated Robbery”. His bond was set at $150,000. Joseph V. Cretton 28 years old of Maryville, IL was charged with one count of “Disorderly Conduct”, and one count of “Obstructing Justice”. His bond was set at $50,000. Both subjects remain in the custody of the Saint Louis City Police Department pending extradition to Illinois. Chief Rob Carpenter

On Thursday, October 18, 2018, at approximately 3:13 p.m. The Maryville Illinois Police Department responded to the following Bank Robbery: A Black Male subject wearing a blue shirt, black vest, dark pants, sunglasses, and a black and white ball cap entered the First Collinsville Bank (FCB Bank) located at 2729 Maryville Road, Maryville Illinois. The subject showed the teller a note inferring he had a weapon and was given an undisclosed amount of currency before fleeing. No weapon was displayed. The suspect entered a small white Hyundai bearing Illinois registration # E77-3839 and was last seen fleeing west on Maryville Rd. Anyone who may know the identity of this subject is asked to call Detective Keith Mumper at 618-344-8899.

Today Officer Keith Hopke spent some time at St John Neumann where he spoke to students about the equipment he uses and gave some safety tips. The kids also got to climb inside a police car and see how it works.

The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis will be having a fundraiser next Tuesday, September 25th from 4PM to 10PM at Dewey’s Pizza located at 425 Regency Park in O’Fallon. This stray cat is reported to be living in the wooded area near Autumn Oaks Subdivision. Does anyone recognize it or know where he/she belongs ?

Yesterday a group of students and staff from the Maryville Christian School stopped by the Maryville Police Department to deliver lunch, deserts, and some hand made cards in remembrance of 9/11. We are very grateful and humbled by the thoughtful gesture!

One year ago Officer Crissy Murphy became a member of the Maryville Police Department. We would like to congratulate her for completing the probationary period and doing a fantastic job ! Let's wish Officer Murphy a long and safe career as she continues to serve the citizens of Maryville.

Congratulations to Sergeant Steve Howe who as of today has completed 20 years of service with the Maryville Police Department. Sergeant Howe has been valuable member of our police department. During his tenure, he has served as a patrolman, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, and he continues to serve as an Investigator with the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis.

One year ago today Officer Sebastian became a member of the Maryville Police Department. We would like to congratulate him for completing his probationary period and doing a great job ! Let's wish him a long and safe career as he serves the citizens of Maryville.

Attempted Armed Robbery On Sunday, July 8, 2018 at approximately 9:15 a.m. a male subject entered Casey’s General Store located at 2101 South Center Street, brandished a knife, and ordered the cashier to give him all the money in the drawer. The suspect was described as an older white male (40’s/50’s), with a slender built, dirty blonde hair, wearing a black jacket/coat with a hood and was armed with a kitchen knife. After the cashier refused to comply with the subject’s demands, the subject told the cashier he had an accomplice outside with a gun. The cashier still refused to give the subject any money. The subject then departed the store. Maryville Officers arrived on scene and initiated an Investigation resulting in the arrest of the following subject: Pierre S. Mark 49 Years Old Maryville IL. 62062 Mark was charged by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office with one count of “Attempted Armed Robbery”. His bond was set at $100,000. THE PUBLIC IS REMINDED THAT ALL ARRESTED PERSONS ARE MERELY ACCUSED OF THE CHARGES AGAINST THEM AND ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNLESS PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.

At last night’s Village Board meeting Patrolman Steve Howe was promoted to the rank of Sergeant with the Maryville Police Department. Sergeant Howe has been a member the Maryville Police Department for almost 20 years. He has been assigned to both the patrol division and as a Detective. Sergeant Howe has been a member of the Greater Saint Louis Major Case Squad for several years and will remain in that position. We would also like to congratulate Brandon Frerker who was sworn in as a full time Firefighter/Paramedic for the Maryville Fire Department.

A big thank you to Michael Lengacher and Myron Thompson. Both are certified public accountants here in Maryville. Today they again presented Chief Carpenter with meal vouchers for each Police Department employee. These vouchers can be used to buy a meal at either Boogies Restaurant, Super Gyro, or Conway's Catering and Good Eats Deli. Thomson & Lengacher stated they wanted to show their support for the Maryville Police Department and thank all the employees for the job they do.
