A big thank you to Mason County State’s Attorney Roger Thomson for the donut delivery this morning! You should make this an every Friday occasion...😎👮‍♀️😂 But seriously, thank you for the kind gesture.

We received the following complaint and wanted to let everyone know of the newer method of scamming. As always, we urge you to never give personal information over the phone, and never to anyone you are not sure is 100% legitimate. Hi, I have a weird question for you...Karen got a call today that had my name on the caller ID so she answered it...the lady introduced herself as Katy and asked her some personal questions about health insurance...Karen then hung up...do I need to be concerned that my name is being used like this? Makes me a little uneasy...Have you heard of this? Do I need to do anything about it?

There seems to be a rise in suicides and self mutilation lately, and sadly more so in our teen population . We would like to ask everyone to just be more aware of others around you. Maybe a friend or family member suddenly seems depressed or more distant than usual. Maybe you notice someone is being bullied. Depression and mental illness are familiar to almost every family to some extent. Please reach out to those that need help and do not judge them. If you are being a bully and think it makes you cool or popular, it doesn’t. In fact, putting it nicely, it just makes you a jerk. Depression doesn’t care about your wealth, race, religion, gender, sexuality, or social status. It can effect any one of us. Today, sadly, a young subject felt the need to try and end their life, feeling alone and treated poorly by others. Thankfully, Officer Binegar arrived just in time and saved this person. We thank him for his quick response and heroic actions. Please know that you are never alone with nobody to care about you. There is help available out there. If you need someone to talk to, we are staffed 24/7/365. If nothing else, we can help get you in touch with some professional help, if not just talk you through a little rough patch. Please reach out to someone.

Have fun! Please drink responsibly and have a designated driver!

Parking ban in effect until Saturday 12:00pm. Please do not park on the streets so that the snow plows can remove the snow. Please slow down and drive safe
