Woodstock Police Department News

Happy Halloween Woodstock! Please take the time to review some helpful tips from the National Highway Safety Administration to keep everyone safe!

We’ve had some great weather today for the Drug take-back event. There’s still some time to come see Officer Pauley to get rid of your unneeded medication.

For the first time in the history of the Woodstock Police Department, we are participating in the "No Shave November" event to raise money for a local entity. All money raised will be donated to the Child Advocacy Center to help them continue with the wonderful and very important work that they do. Participating officers are donating money and will be able to grow a beard, mustache, or a goatee for the entire month of November. Police Chief John Lieb has donated and agreed to grow a mustache in support of the event! In an effort to raise as much money as possible for the Child Advocacy Center, we expanded our event to include non-police members of the City of Woodstock! City Manager Roscoe Stelford and Deputy Mayor Mike Turner have agreed to participate and grow full beards if we reach certain goals that have been set! If you would like to donate to help support the Child Advocacy Center AND see these clean shaven gentlemen sport some facial hair, there are several ways to do so. You can stop by the Police Department (656 Lake Ave.) and meet with Deputy Chief Ray Lanz, go to the Woodstock City Hall (121 W. Calhoun St.) and meet with Betsy Cosgray in the City Managers office, or you can donate online directly to the Child Advocacy Center at: https://mchenrycac.org/no-shave-movember/ Thank you in advance for considering to support the Child Advocacy Center.

Our very own Woodstock North High School SRO Rapacz has some kicks!!! He got kinda shaky towards the end, but he jumped back into the fight.

We hope to see everyone over a cup of coffee. Have a great weekend Woodstock.

UPDATE: Thank you to McHenry County Animal Control who came out to assist. Our friend was chipped and the owner will be contacted. Thank you everyone for your help trying to find the owner. Thank you to the family that turned him in to us. This sweet dog was found in the area of Culver's. Please contact the Woodstock Police Department if he belongs to you. 815-338-2131
