The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office would like to express our gratitude to the men and women who have served in the armed forces 🇺🇸. Thank you to our numerous staff members who are veterans 💙. We appreciate all you do. #VeteransDay

One of our Deputies out at a preschool sharing with the students about our job and #strangerdanger 💙. They really enjoyed a chance to sit in the driver seat of a squad 🚓 car.

Thank you Leadership Greater McHenry County for visiting the government center today to learn about what we do as a Sheriff’s Office. They started the day out with a Chiefs panel which included Police Chiefs from McHenry Police Department, Algonquin Police Department, Lake in the Hills Police Department, Woodstock Police Department, Cary Police Dept., and McHenry County College Police Department and ended with a tour of our courts.

Here is our local burn ordinance for county residents to follow. *Remember if you live in a City or Village that they might have different rules to follow. On another note, today is a weekend day in October and the winds are less than 10 mph so as long as you follow the other regulations it is legal today to burn in McHenry County.

Update: She has been located AmberAlert- Chicago, IL Vehicle: 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, Silver, Sedan Illinois license plate #AV65043 Male, black passenger, nicknamed "Boopa" refused to exit the vehicle during a traffic stop. Jumped in to the drivers seat and fled. Female driver's 1 yr old was still in the vehicle. Female driver stated she picked up Boopa this morning and were driving to Madison WI. Boopa does not have any rights to the child. Troopers were unable to locate the vehicle. Another speed violation today in McHenry County. 105 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. This is unacceptable, dangerous, potentially deadly, and is an arrestable offense. Please make better choices McHenry County and for the sake of everyone on our roadways please please slow down.
