Our Shop with the Sheriff’s Department Fundraiser has been a great success so far, we would like to thank everyone who has donated up to this point. We would like to thank St. Patrick Youth Group for their donation to the Shop with the Sheriff’s Department program. This group of children worked at their Wurstmarkt and Chicken Dinner/Auction selling soda to gain the donated funds. Ameren is repairing a gas leak in the area of State Rt 156/Old Baum Church Rd. They will have one lane of traffic shut down please go slow and use caution when traveling through the area. We will post when both lanes of traffic are opened.

***Press Release*** October 24, 2018 Recently the members of the Corrections Division and the Administrative Assistants have presented an idea to help fund our Shop with the Sheriff's Department at Christmas program. A request has been made for Sheriff's Department employees to grow facial hair for the months of November and December. In return they would donate $100.00 per employee towards our fundraiser for the Chirstmas program. On Decemeber 15th, we will pair the children with a Sheriff's Department employee to shop for their Christmas gifts at Walmart in Waterloo. If there are any businesses or individuals interested in donating towards the program please contact us at 618-939-8681 EXT 235. Last year we had 10 families participate with 14 children total that received gifts. Our goal is to grow this program and help as many families as possible to have a great Chirstmas. ***Press Release*** October 19, 2018 I want to congratulate Deputy Chris Unser on being selected as Deputy of the month for September 2018. Deputy Unser's selection was based on his proactive traffic/criminal enforcement, commitment to completing directed patrols and dedication to department objectives. Deputy Unser's hard work has resulted in your nomination and selection for this award by your supervisors. The following is a summary of some of Deputy Unser's activities which led to his selection: • Deputy Unser completed a traffic stop where you arrested the driver for being in possession methamphetamine and paraphernalia. • Removing intoxicated drivers from the roadway is one of the most immediate and important tasks an individual law enforcement officer can perform in order to save a life. While on patrol Deputy Unser arrested 2 drivers for Driving Under the Influence. • Deputy Unser concentrated on traffic enforcement aimed at reducing traffic accidents and traffic related complaints. Deputy Unser completed 36 traffic stops and issued 7 citations. Deputy Unser's activity for the month not only exemplifies his prowess in the area of proactive policing but equally important is his dedication to department goals. Including the above incidents, Deputy Unser also completed 15 business checks, arrested 1 subject on a warrant, and served 10 legal papers. ***Press Release*** October 17, 2018 On October 10, 2018, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a Deputy with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department observed a suspicious vehicle occupied by three males in the parking lot at Mobile on the Run in Waterloo. Deputies maintained surveillance on the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop a short time later after they left the parking lot. After locating 3 handguns and suspected Methamphetamine Deputies arrested Jeremy S. Sewell 38 y/o from High Ridge, MO and Derek C. Schopp 27 y/o from Manchester, MO. A juvenile was also arrested and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Belleville. During the investigation Deputies determined at least one handgun was stolen and located other items of stolen property. On October 12, warrants were issued for Armed Violence, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a felon. Bond was set for both Sewell and Schopp at $100,000.00 and they are currently being held in the Monroe County Jail. On October 11, 2018, Jonathan T. Acord 38 y/o from Dupo, IL was arrested on a warrant for driving while license revoked/suspended. During processing at the jail Corrections staff located suspected Methamphetamine. On October 12, 2018, Acord was arraigned on Methamphetamine Trafficking and given a $100,000.00 bond. Acord is being held at the Monroe County Jail. All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Sheriff Neal Rohlfing

Attached are a few pictures of a vehicle involved in a leaving the scene of an accident case we have pending. We are looking for help with possibly identifying the truck. We are aware the quality of the pictures is not the best, however, the sticker on the back windshield may help in identifying the owner. The accident occurred on Main St. in Hecker on 09/29/18 at 2:40 AM. Deputy Adcock has 4 years of Law Enforcement experience with 3 1/2 years with the Granville County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Department.
