The Waterloo Police Department has positively identified the suspect responsible for the wallet thefts at Wal Mart. The Waterloo Police Department appreciates the assistance from the Wal Mart Asset Protection Officers and information from the St. Louis County Police Department.

PRESS RELEASE: On Monday, October 22, 2018, the Monroe County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Benjamin A. Ducey, twenty-eight (28) years of age and residing in the 300 block of Arapaho Drive, Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois with Intimidation/Physical Harm, a Class 3 Felony. Ducey is currently being held at the St. Charles, Missouri Police Department for unrelated offenses. All criminal defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. For all those who contacted the Waterloo Police Department with information about Ducey, we appreciate the assistance and support.

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at approximately 1750 hours, the Waterloo Police Department responded to the First National Bank of Waterloo, 744 North Market Street, to investigate an attempted bank robbery. No one was injured during the attempted bank robbery and the suspect departed before the Waterloo Police Department arrived. The Waterloo Police Department is asking for assistance with the identification of a person of interest displayed in the images below. The person of interest was driving the dark-colored vehicle backing into the traffic aisle. If anyone recognizes the person of interest or has any information related to the attempted bank robbery, please contact the Waterloo Police Department, 618-939-8651 or 618-939-3377.
